Untangling the Ivy League 2006 by Marc Zawel, Priya Radjev

Simply put, nobody has ever done a book like this before. We were tired of reading college guides based on a single experts perspective, or from the viewpoint of a major publishing house. So, we set out to create a guide on the Ivy League by Ivy League students and alumni. We figured they would know more from experience, plus theyre probably a whole lot smarter. That is why every section of this book, every expert opinion, and every major insight is from the people who know best. The section on Harvard is by a Harvard student; the admissions advice comes from a former Yale essay reader and a concealed current Ivy League admissions officer. Important issues such as affirmative action and legacy admission policy receive attention from no less than an Ivy League University President and a Supreme Court Justice.

I'm a big fan of College Prowler. I think that most kids want to know (or at least should know) more about the school they're choosing than the average SAT scores and how many famous professors teach there. This book gives you a real look inside the school from the vantage point of the students.

Buy this book for your son or daughter when they are a sophomore in high school. If they follow the steps in this book, then they'll be a 'shoe-in' at Harvard.

This book is great. I have never seen something that gives me so much information about all the schools in one book. This was really helpful and answered tons of my questions. I especially liked the Q&A with the counselors and the profiles of kids who got in. The other best part was reading each school's section with all the student quotes and information about the classes and the dorms and food and guys. I really feel like i got an idea of what it's like to go to each school, and now i know how to get in if i want to. I was even able to email one of the writers and ask some questions. very cool.
