About the Author
Living in Geistown Borough, he graduated from the Richland School District and moved on to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. During his time at Pitt-Johnstown Matt earned a degree in Geography with a minor in Political Science. In furthering his education, Matt earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Northcentral University.
In the governmental arena, Matt has worked to develop new ideas and implement new policies and procedures on the local level. He has served eight years on the Geistown Borough Council and was elected President of Council in 2014. During his years at Geistown Borough, he has lead projects to modernize operations, develop alternate sources of funding, and expand services to residents all while maintaining a flat tax rate. These efforts were recognized at the state level in 2016 when Matt was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Pennsylvania State Borough Association.
Matt also worked to develop new ideas and partnership including Chairing the Cambria County Business Startup Committee which developed recommendations to help business opportunities in the community.
Matt is the owner of Eagles Ridge Industries, a small business dedicated to telecommunications, business development, and project management. When not working in the business, Matt teaches at the Pennsylvania Highlands Community College where he became an Adjunct Faculty member in 2010.
