Library Journal - Library Journal
Friedman's title is somewhat misleading, as he does not give specific advice or definite strategies for successfully ``coping with the corporate climb.'' He comes close to dealing with the topic in chapter 5, where he examines the theories of various management writers. The bulk of the text, however, is devoted to the lengthy presentation of three case studies, concerning the pitfalls encountered in the course of a career. The book could have benefited from a discussion or conclusion section at the end of each case. Not a necessary purchase. Mary Greene Havener, GenRad, Inc . , Information Ctr., Concord, Mass.
