Up to Date by Susan Hatler

Ginger knows that practical choices guarantee a stable life, which is why she chose a career as an office manager. Her job provides a steady paycheck, but it also has her snoozing at her desk. She wishes she'd pursued her passion for interior decorating rather than business.

She's also trying to forget Greg Shaffer--the gorgeous emergency room doctor she met at a dance club last month. Her dad was an emergency room doctor and the stress of the job turned him into a raging alcoholic, which didn't exactly create happy childhood memories.

Ginger believes donating her decorating services to her friend's charity auction is the perfect fix for both her problems. She'll get a break from the daily grind, get her creative juices flowing, and stay so busy she'll finally forget about Greg.

But then Greg ends up buying the condo right above her. Even worse, he deliberately wins the bid on her auction item. Greg seems determined to prove to Ginger that practicality has nothing on passion. And as Ginger brings beauty into Greg's world, how can she possibly resist the beauty he brings to hers?

Up to Date, is Ginger's story, told in first person. She's got a talent for decorating, but is hesitant to break out on her own, until fate almost forces her to. In the previous book, she met Greg, but wasn't willing to have a long distance relationship. When he moves back to town, she realizes that she has to overcome her fears or spend a lifetime alone. I love the references to Gilligan's Island--so much fun! I enjoyed Ginger's personality--she's more serious, especially about relationships and the future. As much as she tries to fight it, she's got sparks going with Greg and he's willing to be patient with her, but won't wait around forever. Ginger has fears and expectations to overcome and with that, big decisions to make. I loved the journey! Content: kissing. Clean! *I received a copy in exchange for an honest review*

Recommended! Cute story and I'm giving it an extra star because there's no sex, just for the sake of having sex. The characters are nice but predictable.

Ginger has met Greg before but since he is a Emergency Doctor she doesn'twant to date him. Her father was also a Emergency Doctor who was never around than turned to Scotch to make him forget his lost patients. Greg wins her decorating prize at the Silent Auction. While working on this project she looses her job. A magazine is writing an article of before and after of her design of Greg's condo. This good be a good time to start her Design business. Will Greg change her mind about him? Wonderful story of fear, commitments and love. joy943.

Up To Date by Susan Hatler is a fun read. This book is a fairly short read, a perfect choice for those with limited time for reading. Ms Hatler has delivered a well written story full of awesome characters. Ginger and Greg's story is fast paced and packed with drama, humor and sizzle. I enjoyed reading Up To Date and look forward to reading more from Susan Hatler in the future. Up To Date is book 8 in the Better Date Than Never Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Ginger's such a sweet girl and I loved how she went after her dreams in this cute romantic comedy. Loved the title and how the guy she liked lived right upstairs. What a fun read and a great way to spend the evening.

I have loved this series, but book #8 - Up To Date - was missing something. I found Ginger's storyline boring.

This is the second book of the series that I have read and this one is my favorite. Ginger is relatable. She's so worried about taking care of others and being a disappoinment that she can't see how unhappy she is. It's okay to be selfish and put our needs first so that way we can help. I love that her are short and simple and to the point. I just want the whole series now. This books are great when sitting around waiting for your flight or waiting between classes.

3/5 stars--UP TO DATE is the eighth storyline in Susan Hatler’s Better Date Than Never contemporary romance series of novellas focusing on a group of tight knit women and friends. This is Greg and Ginger’s storyline. Ginger has been present throughout much of the series and is friends with many of the previous storyline heroines. The storyline follows Ginger from office manager to lay off to up and coming interior designer. Ginger offers up her decorating services as part of an auction to raise funds for a homeless outreach program never thinking that the man who occupies her every thought is the winner of her donation.  Enter Dr. Greg Shaffer; a young physician who had previously captured Ginger’s heart and imagination, but a man with whom Ginger is unable to open up and fall in love. An unhappy childhood has left Ginger defeated and unwilling to compromise where her heart is concerned. She struggles with her feelings for Greg and in this there are several moments of push and pull that raised the anxiety level for this reader. A prior relationship had already been established. Greg and Ginger had met previously and neither one had forgotten about the other. Now that Greg is Ginger’s new neighbor, there isn’t anything stopping Ginger from getting close-except her heart. UP TO DATE is a sweet, romantic storyline; a chic-lit novella with a happily ever after. There is no sex; no graphic language or violence.  Susan Hatler offers up a series of quick, simple and clean reads with a happily ever after for everyone involved.
