Upgrading Happiness is Book One in The Happiness Trilogy. Book Two will be available Fall of 2012.
UPGRADING HAPPINESS is a novel about two married couples, and other supporting characters as well, and how their lives change because of a catalytic event. Joe and Marci Williams, a young married couple, live in Center City and have chosen to live a minimalist life-style. While on a short vacation, they are introduced to a somewhat more opulent life-style when they visit Malo and MacKenzie Satana in a different city, Crystal Beach.

Because of all the wonderful restaurants and cooking opportunities, along with his re-kindling friendship with his childhood friend, Malo, Joe wants to pull up stakes in Center City and move to Crystal Beach immediately. But Marci is not sold on that idea. Then something happens that has the potential to change Marci's mind. It will change the lives of all the major characters in the story. What is the catalyst that changes everything around?

The sub plots of this novel weave together the issues of newlyweds, career and other personal dreams for the future, the bonds of friendships....new and old....and higher purposes for being in the right place at the right time for the benefit of everyone concerned.

UPGRADING HAPPINESS takes the place in contemporary time, in day-to-day time, just like our own lives do. It is a simple story, filled with day-to-day liviing experiences of its characters. And yet it does have a slight fairy tale aura about it, I suppose because it has a happy ending, and may leave the reader to want to know what happens next.

About the Author

Victoria M. Holob was born in Vancouver, Canada and currently lives in the Pacific Northwest of USA with her small dog, Brownie. The room where she writes is painted a bright mango color. she has always been an avid reader. Her favorite book from early childhood is, "Mr. Bear, Squash you All Flat." She recently found and purchased a copy of it, and is fascinated with the ending, the moral of the story, all over again.

She has written for many years, but began self-publishing her written work as ebooks in 2010. she writes and illustrates stories for children, short stories for women, and self-hypnosis projects for adults. The publishing of UPGRADING HAPPINESS, marks her debut as a novelist as well.
Ms. Holob has a B.A. in english and a Multiple subjects Teaching Credential from San Jose State University, and a Certificate in Hypnotherapy from The School of Healing Arts in Pacific Beach, both schools in California.
