Have been reading Ms. Viets for last two years and have throughly enjoyed not only her main character, but the plot, and the knack she has for bringing in each character into the story line.

An Uplifting Murder By: Elaine Viets Copyright November 2010 When Josie is assigned to mystery shop a chain of lingerie stores it becomes old home week. The manager of the store is her old high school gym teacher Mrs. Hayes. Imagine her surprise and dismay when another person from her high school years shows up while she's there to shop. It's her old nemesis, the girl voted most likely to be hated. The shocks keep coming when Josie, entering the ladies restroom finds her former nemesis dead in a toilet stall. The police end up arresting Mrs. Hayes for the death, but Josie is positive her old teacher is innocent of this crime. There are too many people in the dead women's past who would love to have seen her dead. Josie and her sidekick Alyce are going to have to work this crime and solve it if they want to free Mrs. Hayes and find the real murderer. Between taking care of her daughter, working other gigs as a shopper, Josie is going to find herself run ragged. This is the sixth book in Ms. Viet's Mystery Shopper series and she has again pulled me into Josie Marcus' world, keeping me intrigued and fascinated with the story line. I strongly recommend this book and the whole series to anyone who wants a light read, with a lead character who cares enough to always get involved. FTC Full Disclosure - I own this book having received it as a gift.

It's a toss up between 4 & 5 stars but I'm willing to give Viets the benefit of the doubt. As always, the characters are well thought out, the dialogue believable, and the clues abundant as Josie searches for the killer of an old high school classmate who had tortured Josie all those many years ago and as she tries to free the accused killer (a former teacher who had stood up to the bully for Josie in that same high school). The clues are so abundant that I figured it all out about 100 pages before Josie but that doesn't matter. The light touching of romance between Josie and Ted, the vet, just adds to the flavor. Love both of Viets' series and look forward to the next.

In this edition Josie is mystery shopping at a high end lingerie store. Very pricey undergarments. She is more than surprised to find her old high school gym teacher Mrs. Hayes as manager and "self appointed C-cup counselor". To make things even more uncomfortable (Josie was very nervous about undressing in front of a stranger.) an extremely snotty high school classmate bounds into the store while Josie is there slinging accusations and insults like bullets from a gun. Josie is shocked but not totally surprised to find the classmate later, dead in the handicapped stall in the woman's bathroom. The real bombshell drops when her former teacher is arrested for the murder. As secrets are revealed Josie finds the victim has many more enemies than friends, she just has to uncover which enemy had the most to lose and the most to gain and she sets out to "bust" the real killer. I LOVED IT!!!!! This series is so much fun. Josie, her family and friends are such wonderful characters you are sure to love, and the author always colors the victim as someone you just love to hate. She always blends friendship, family, mystery, humor and romance perfectly. When you finish one story you can't wait to start the next. Pumped For Murder will be out in May 2011. I can't wait!! This latest in the Josie Marcus, Mystery Shopper Series was an incredibly fun book for me to read. Given the opportunity to review the ARC was a boon. In this story, Josie is given the task of mystery shopping at a lingerie store which leads to murder. But by whom? The whys are many for this murder victim as she was still the same bully from high school that Josie remembers. The suspects are many, and the twists keep turning. There are new dynamics in Josie's relationships that add more dimension to the characters and the entire series. With each new book, Ms. Viets adds more layers which make reading these more and more fun. And the tips are helpful as well! Thank you!
