This novella has six short stories about couples in love and how they spend their Valentine’s Day. The typical Valentine’s Day story involves cynical singles, wary of love and complaining about it. These stories were refreshing in that all the stories were about couples, mostly married, who are in love and still in lust, with all the ups and downs that implies. That was nice to read about. I figured that this was part of a series. What I didn’t realize is that the couples appearing in this book, are recurring characters from previous books. I simply love that idea. It does what it is supposed to do, it makes me want to read the rest of the ‘On Dublin Street’ books and just about anything else written by this author if I am honest. If you are looking for steamy Valentine’s read with characters that are easy to connect with, this is a great way to spend the afternoon.

This sweet, sexy holiday novella is a collection of six romantic short stories featuring our favorite couples in the On Dublin Street series and how they manage—and occasionally fail—to juggle marriage, parenthood and busy careers.  The Carmichaels: It's Valentine’s Day number twelve for Joss and Braden, and this year it's their turn to babysit. With two young children and another on the way, plus Ellie and Adam's and Marco and Hannah's kids, they're going to have their hands full this evening. But Brayden still finds a way for them to sneak in some sinfully sexy, adult husband and wife time.  The Sutherlands: Tonight Ellie and Adam are spending a romantic evening at their favorite restaurant in Old Town. But as Ellie looks around at all the other tables, and the couples seated at them, she becomes increasingly concerned with how many of them seem bored. So this Valentine’s Day, Ellie intends to spice things up—both in and out of the bedroom—and prove to Adam that she isn't the sweet goodie-two-shoes who doesn't know how to be wild and impulsive. The MacCabes: After eleven years together and a daughter of their own, Jo and Cam appear to have lost touch with each other. With a new job at a large international marketing company, it seems like all Cam does anymore is work. After months of distance between them, late nights working, and little more than perfunctory affection, Jo is more than a little worried ... and more than a little hurt. She's also more than a little aware that Cam's completely forgotten about Valentine's Day, so she decides to surprise him with a special evening out. But when Jo walks into her husband's office to find him sitting casually back in his chair gazing up at the young, slim, sexy brunette sitting on his desk, legs crossed, skirt riding up her thighs, with her focus completely on Cameron, it appears that the surprise may actually be on her.  The Sawyers: As much as they enjoy mocking the commercialism of Valentine's Day, Nate has always acknowledged it by waking Olivia up with a kiss and a cuddle, and flowers in the morning. This year—nada. After almost eight years of marriage, two daughters, and no sign of falling into the inevitable trap of taking one another for granted, Liv now finds herself overwhelming upset by the idea that they may have reached that point in their relationship. But as it turns out, Nate has other plans for some sweet, slow, sexy alone time with his wife this Valentine's Day. The D'Alessandros: With their children at Joss and Braden's for the evening, Hanna expects to spend a quiet night in with her husband. But Marco has other plans, surprising her with a picnic by the bench at the Douglas Gardens where they'd spent a very memorable night together as kids. And what starts out as a romantic trip down memory lane quickly escalates into an illicit public display of affection.  The recently engaged Cole Walker and Shannon MacLeod: To celebrate their first Valentine's Day together Cole intends to have Shannon's name tattooed across his chest, which she thinks is crazy. He was hoping for a better reaction—something like 'that's so romantic Cole, I can't believe you love me enough to get me etched permanently across your chest'. After finally convincing Cole to simply get a stylized 'S' over his heart, Shannon realizes that it's actually a two-fold present. Since he needs to watch his new tattoo tonight, she gets to be on top. Best. Valentine's. Day. Ever!
