Overview

Eight years ago federal agent Samantha Moon was the perfect wife and mother, your typical soccer mom with the minivan and suburban home. Then the unthinkable happens, an attack that changes her life forever. And forever is a very long time for a vampire.

Now in VAMPIRE SUN, private investigator Samantha Moon looks into the bizarre disappearance of a woman who enters a Starbucks, but never leaves. Her distraught husband, a person of interest, hires Sam when a Corona Police Department detective gets killed and the case grows cold.

In addition, Sam's former guardian angel-now a fallen angel-makes another, startling appearance. Not to mention, Kingsley, her cheating werewolf lawyer ex-boyfriend, is trying to win her back...at all costs. Daughter Tammy's psychic powers are growing exponentially, as are her best friend Allison's, and son Anthony deals with school violence and starts boxing lessons with his own supernatural strength. Just one big, happy, paranormal family.

Most of all, Sam needs to get her hands on the fourth medallion. Fang, her former friend and love interest, has the diamond medallion, which reputedly will restore mortality, yet allow a vampire certain powers. Needless to say, Sam will do almost anything to get it. But the demoness within Sam threatens to kill the last shreds of her humanity. Suddenly, killing for blood doesn't seem that heinous. Sam knows if she doesn't get that diamond medallion soon, it could be the end of her conscience... and the end of all that she loves most.

According to my copy of "Vampire Sun" it comes in at 159 pages. I enjoyed it! Samantha discovers a few surprising things about herself.

I just love this series and this book ...

Not good, only background over and over about Samanthas life. Not worth the money. Only 113 pages.

I totally love the Samantha Moon character, and I totally hate Fang, it makes for a great book. However, this book....that I waited for with anticipation, was just lacking. There was to much back story filler and the new story line had so much potential but it left me kinda unsatisfied. I expected better for 113 pages, I thought I was in for a great journey, and I ended up with pouty lip. J.R. Rain is so talented and he just left, this fan, scratching her head, and wondering what happened.

The one thing that bothers me about this series, is that these books are too short. Other that that I really enjoyed this book. Not "Great Literature" but definitely fun to read!

It was okay.  Nothing to brag about.  Sam learn about some new things going on and that was basically it.  Nothing to interesting.

Samantha Moon books have been my addiction since the very first one and I'm like a little kid at Christmas when I see Rain has released  a new one. Some are better than others, some are scarier, some more emotional, but all of them go too fast for me. This newest is no  different. It was over before I knew it, which happens when I enjoy a book so much my mind escapes into the pages (electronics??) of the  authors creativity. I felt like this one tied up some ends for me, like questions I had about the medallions, questions about Sam's ex,  and questions about where Sam might be heading in her love life. Sam's new case was fun too- a real brain teaser that brought on a new detective who was really likable, and an ending that kind of surprised me but was very much in line with Sam's beliefs. If you're a Samantha Moon fan, grab this one up now. You won't be disappointed. And if you haven't started the series yet, go back to the first and read through- you'll become a fan fast. Gotta love J.R. Rain's books!

Great book. Yes, this book is short, but I think it has packed with a lot of loose end that needed to be addressed. I found the book to be enjoyable once that I would probably read again. Yes, Sam describes herself repeatedly as a "freak" but I think it's just showing what low self esteem she has. I enjoyed how Mr. Rain includes other characters from his other books.
