About the Author

Before taking up a permanent residence in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mimi spent time living near NYC (became a shopaholic), in Mexico City (developed a taste for very spicy food), and Arizona (now hates jumping chollas, but pines for sherbet sunsets). Her love of pre-Hispanic culture, big cities, and romance inspires her to write when she's not busy with kids, hubby, work, and life...or getting sucked into a juicy novel.

She hopes that someday leather pants for men will make a big comeback and that her writing might make you laugh when you need it most.

Mimi has done it once again. I feel like a puck in one of those air hockey games you can buy cheap at a garage sale. The gang is back for more insanity, Cimil bat#### crazy is all I can say. Nick, Penelope, Fate (grrr), Belch, that sexy beast, the Bee Bonnett Deity, and Zak, who I can not make a comment about, no spoilers here. This book had some crazy twists I always enjoy this series. Humor, excitement, romance, it has it all. I purchased this book today and could not put it down. I loved it!!! I can't wait for more Deity Insanity

First off, if you love reading books that will make you LOL and I do mean literally Laugh Out Loud, to the point where you almost have tears running out of your eyes, you HAVE to check out this series. I have been a fan since book 1 and I just have to say, they keep getting better and better with each book that comes out. This book does not disappoint in any sense, the characters, the story, everything was just done amazingly well. Ixtab, oh what to say about her. I want to say that she’s sweet and funny, but she really isn’t. But she tries! And that is the important part, right? Throughout the book we are lucky enough to see her try to become something that she isn’t. (Yes, I’m talking about her becoming a comedian.) But we are able to follow along as she does become something that she is. (Confusing, well read the story and you will understand!) There were some parts of the book where her character is so misunderstood that you would want to just give her a hug, but then you remember what she is and you don’t do that. And other parts where you want to send her after your ex, trust me we all got one of ‘those’ ex’s. Antonio is a jerk. Plain and simple. Even by the end of the book I wasn’t sure if I liked him. I mean honestly, he’s hot, got sex appeal, smart, and can do that one thing. (You know you want to know). But there are some times in the book that there that little part of him that comes out and you realize that he is a really sweet guy; a caring guy, who only wants the best for everyone. And then the real Antonio comes back and you just want to smack him. Like I said, I have been a complete fan of this series since book 1 and they are just amazing. Each of the characters, no matter how minor their role is in the story, does extremely well. They are all written to where they don’t take over the scene that they are in, unless they are suppose too. The drama that takes part, just goes to show that sometimes things aren’t always what they seem. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series! This is a complete MUST READ from me and you should add it to your TBR list now!

What's not to like when an author essentially warns you up front not to take the book too seriously and just enjoy it for the brain candy that it is? If you're looking for a deep experience, then you probably want to go elsewhere, but if you're looking to be entertained, then by all means, read on. This is part of the Accidentally Yours series, and I haven't read any of the previous books. However, I think the author did a decent job of filling you in on what you may have missed in those prior volumes. Based on this one, it seems that each volume focuses on a primary character and setting that character up with his/her soul mate, with a backdrop of an impending apocalypse and deity shenanigans. This time, the focus is on Ixtab, who has the misfortune to be the Goddess of Suicide. She can't touch anyone without disastrous consequences--they immediately use whatever means is handy to do themselves in. (Be forewarned--cute, cuddly pets are no exception!) As a penance for accidentally killing the love of her life, she wears a veil and hides her beauty, so everyone things she must be a monster inside and out. However, we discover that there's more to the Goddess of Suicide than meets the eye. She is charged with insuring that physicist Antonio Acero, who happens to be the spitting image of her lost love, unlocks the secrets of an ancient Mayan artifact that can help rescue some imprisoned deities. Meanwhile, the other deities, who really resemble a group of kids at daycare in terms of their maturity level, have their little spats and relationship crises. There is one goddess, Cimil, who seems to be quite the trouble-maker, but anyone with a pet unicorn can't be all bad, can they? I laughed quite a bit while I was reading this book, largely at the silliness of it all. If you're a fan of paranormal romance, you'll find a lot to like here between the gods, ex-gods, vampires, fallen angels, etc., etc., that populate the series. Good luck pronouncing the characters' names, though. No wonder they all have nicknames. While not jumping to the top of my "to read" list, the rest of the series will definitely be on my list for the future whenever I need a quick, funny read.

Reviewed by Crystal Book provided by NetGalley for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book I couldn’t wait for this book to come out and when I finally got to read it I wasn’t disappointed. I just hate that it took a while to get it. In the other books of this series it usually is centered on one couple the most but in this one we have several. We get to see what is happening with the others that we just can’t get enough of. The main couple in this book is Ixtab who is the Goddess of Suicide and I would hate to be her. Antonio is a succubus, well he has a little in him at least. It just seems when these two get together it all changes. At first they really can’t stand each other. Ixtab is really nice and hates what she has to do. She doesn’t do anything on purpose unless it is someone that really deserves it. We also get to see what happens next for Penelope and Kinich since Penelope has taken over his Sun duties while Kinich is now a vampire. We get to see a little of Chaam and Maggie. We also get to see if the other God and vampires will be released. If that is not all we find out that Zac is the God of Temptation and has been using his powers on Penelope and Kinich. The biggest thing of all is Cimil. I don’t know if she is bad or good. I do know that she is very crazy. Now that we know that this book has a lot going on in it and the author does a great job with it. I never felt like I was missing anything or there was just too much going on. I loved how she decided to put all of this people in together. I know that I first started reading these books just to see what they were about. The title is what really caught my eye. It made you think that it was something mysterious. I had to read it just to see what I would be getting myself in for. I really hate that this series will soon be over. I can’t believe that I will just read two more books and that will be all. I will forever miss my Gods, Goddesses and Vampires. I have fallen in love with each character and they are all different and unique in their own way. Even though we get to see how the couples are doing we still know that their are some mysteries still to solve. I just don’t see how this series can get all the answers to everything in the next two books. I really hope that Cimil is working for the good and she becomes sane and can find someone to love her. I know that it would take someone special. If I had to pick my favorite one I would have to pick the first one. Just because it was the start of the series and I feel in love with the characters. Every single couple have touched something in me. I can even see some of them as being my family members. I know that if I had lived as long as these gods and goddesses have that I would be going crazy myself. If you haven’t read this series I would tell you to start it today and fall in love with some really great people. You will even have some alpha males that will melt your heart.

' I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review ' Ixtab is the Goddess of Suicide. She cannot touch anyone or any living thing or else they will immediately find a way to kill themselves. She punishes herself and wears a veil constantly because she believes that she killed her one and only love. She is sent to try to help Antonio because he became blind and is not handling it well and he has a Mayan Tablet that they need but they don't know how to get it to open a Portal. They need him to open it. Antonio has been having dreams of a woman. A beautiful woman who wants him to open a portal with the Tablet to save her. He believes that he is destined to be with this woman. So he cannot figure out why he is so drawn to Ixtab. And when she makes the choice to have him turned into a Vampire, she ruins his plans to save his brother from a terrible fate and he cannot bring himself to forgive her for it. He can't stay away either. Once he realizes that she is his mate will it be too late? My opinion: LOVED it, of course, I think this one might have been one of my favorites. I think that Ixtab gets the short hand of the stick for the most part. Who wants to kill everyone you touch? The other gods aren't usually that nice to her. I think Penelope was a good change she started to show Ixtab some kindness and her first nickname. It seems to me that Antonio and Ixtab have a love hate relationship through the book. They both can't seem to stay away from the other but they don't want to be with the other for their own reasons so they are hateful to each other constantly. This is a great book where one goddess who deserves love may find her happiness and as the last book left off with a cliffhanger we find out what happened with Kinich and Penelope and many more surprises. I highly recommend reading. ' Read and Reviewed by LSK Sweetheart Reviews '

Quirky heroine, fun read, but beware the yo-yoing. I received this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Ixtab is the Goddess of Suicide—a totally bogus title for a woman who just wants everyone to be happy. Unable to touch anyone without them offing themself, she’s condemned to a lonely existence. Now she’s sent to help a physicist unlock the secrets of a tablet the gods need to stop the end of the world. Unfortunately Antonio is a dead ringer for the man Ixtab loved, and accidentally killed, two hundred years ago. Yet she can touch him without killing him. An accident nearly kills Antonio. The only fix is to turn him into a vampire—a monster. Now he wants nothing to do with the snarky female who ruined all his plans. But he also can’t keep away from her. First, I read “Accidentally In Love with a God” right before this one (that was book one in the series, and this is book four). This book started off on a humorous note. I loved every time Ixtab went to an AA meeting and gave her spiel. The humor carried through the story, but some spots fell seriously flat or felt forced. This book didn’t have the yo-yoing problems of the last one in the series I’d read, so I didn’t want to strangle the hero for failing to make up his mind. We did have to wait an awful long time for his opinion of her to change, and it was related to seeing her face. That kind of bummed me out. Despite that, there was a fairly good HEA for these two. Still, I can’t bring myself to give Vampires Need Not Apply? more than 3.5* because it's a traditionally published book, and I only “Liked it”, I didn’t “Really Like It”.
