Jack a.k.a. Jackpot, a 17 year old teenager is attacked by a werewolf leaving him for dead but is saved by a vampire, by transforming him into one. Ten years later, while visiting his graveyard, vampire Jackpot tries to save a beautiful girl from a werewolf, although he knows that even a scratch from the creature means death. Miracles of miracles, Jack instead of dyeing turns into what he always wanted to be … a human, a 'normal' human that can go to school and have a normal life. He meets Silver, a strong, beautiful, soul-sucker werewolf hunter, and she tells him that he has a destiny to fulfill. If that wasn’t enough for Jackpot to hear she also tells him that everything paranormal wants him dead. So, a normal life, huh? Not a chance when wraiths, vampires, werewolves, fairies, hunters, protective girlfriend’s parents or single minded brothers want to tear you to pieces. The characters were wonderful; my favorite character was Jersey Clifford (the teacher). I liked how he was refined and calculating, I wish there was more info about him because he is such an interesting character…maybe in the next book we’ll see more. What I didn’t like in the book were the warnings like ‘if it’s too dangerous don’t do it’ or ‘ today we’ve done a lot, let’s leave it for tomorrow’, the way some characters were introduced, distance and time related measurements, things seem to be repeated, the plot was a bit too predictable, some grammar and typo errors. The story line is fresh at least I haven't read a vamp/were book like this. The world is a unique one, has a great background history, I love it when an author questions the stereo types put on the supernatural and makes up their own rules it makes for a more interesting read if you have a whole new set of rules to play by. Note: I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

A 200 page well-written free teenage paranormal book of a young guy killed by werewolves and 'saved' by vampires. And is turned again by a werewolf infection - but what precisely is he now?......... And then what if you 'fall' for a hunter, and your 'little' brother who is older than you now is preparing ways to kill you?..... and her hunter parents?.......along with your once vampire saviors that you have spent 10 years with?....... and maybe your teacher?...... then there's the werewolves..... Survival gets complex for Jack in this adventure. A bit of a cliffhanger ending. A partial chapter to next book is provided. Also an excerpt for the book 'Bait' is also provided and this book is now free.

Vampires Rule had me interested right from the start. It has vampires and werewolves all with a twist. This is a must read! Ten years ago Jack was a human who was attacked by a werewolf but then saved by vampires who turned him. He lost his parents in the attack. After living as a vampire for the past ten years he is attacked again by another werewolf, but this time he is turned back into a human. After getting this second chance at living life as a human all Jack wants is to be normal. After returning home Jack finds his younger brother Billy who now is the "older" brother is well surprised in a unique way to see him. He wants to go back to high school and just be a normal teenager. But the girl, Silver that he meets the night he is turned back human tells him that he is part of a destiny. Now Jack and his girlfriend Silver, who is a hunter, find themselves in the middle of a destiny that if they can fulfill it, will save the human race. They must figure out who the head werewolf is and kill it. But things and people are not always what they seem. Silver's parents are too keen on Jack once being a vampire. Then there is Jack's old vampire friends and ex-girlfriend/vampire Summer. When both vampires and werewolves wanting you dead things get really out of control fast. I loved how they both are very strong willed. They always are looking out for the other one and continually putting themselves in some sort of dangerous situation. While there is romance, action and suspense there is also humor which just adds to this great story. By the end we are left with unanswered questions and a somewhat cliffhanger ending. I enjoyed reading it and am looking forward to what is next. This e-book was provided to me for review. This did not affect my review in any way.
