I'm not usually a reader of poems, but these, as an introduction to the rest of the book were touching and lyrical. One of my favorites was "Three feet High" where the author describes his affection for his young daughters. The poems vary greatly in content, going from "My Back Creaks" to the title of the book "Velvet Cloth". Loved the style and charm in the authors' stories and would recommend - !
