By the end of the book I was so excited and inspired! I'm usually a slow reader but due to the fact that my interest grew so much as I read, I ended up reading it pretty quickly from front cover to back cover because at the end of every page, I HAD TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! The written details of the moment really help you to imagine the visual scenes that all the events take place in. The book was definitely a good reminder that vengeance is God's, not ours. It's hard for me to explain how good it is without giving away giving it all away, so get it and read it for yourself to see what I'm talking about. It's a very clever, creative, and uplifting story!
Once I started reading Vengeance, I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. The dual storyline was both fascinating and thought provoking. It definitely held my interest. Though this story is fiction, it brings awareness to non-fictional spiritual territory. It is an appropriate read for my teenager as well, with just enough graphic battle scenes to really hold his attention.
I highly recommend Vengeance. I found the book to be an enjoyable story with a nicely developed story line and set of characters. The fact that the story kept jumping between angelic/demonic warfare and the man whose mind and choices were what the battle was over as the story developed only fed my interest. The man’s struggle over doing what was right, and doing what was satisfying or easy, was a concept I could personally relate to from my own life. I could not put the book down until I was done, but after I finished, the story caused me to reflect on my own choices, both in the past, and those not yet made in the future. Well developed scenes given that this was a short story, and as such, the book was done all too soon. I would love to see this book developed into a series of short stories that both continue and further develop the story line where it ended in this book. I read the teaser chapter in the back from the upcoming novel, and having read what the author did with this short story, I very much look forward to his novel.
Vengeance is a story that continued to draw me in with its vivid descriptions so that the story easily played out in my mind’s eye. Some of the scenes caused me to lay the book down and contemplate the effects of my own choices and the spiritual realm. This is a read for personal enjoyment and reflection so that bonus has me interested in this author’s other writings.
Although short, this book takes a good look at what truly goes on inside the head of a parent who's child has been murdered. It's an amazing story of forgiveness. This book is unique in the fact that it bounces back and forth between what's happening on earth, and the spiritual battle that is ongoing between the angels and the demons. It will make you think about what really goes on in the spiritual realm, something most of don't really think about. All in all, a book well worth reading!
