Venice is perfect for their honeymoon. Unless an assassin plays his cards right...
Richard and Rose, Book 3
At long last, it is Lord and Lady Strang's wedding day. Yet no sooner do Richard and Rose leave their wedding breakfast than two shots ring out, forcing a hasty change in honeymoon plans. Instead of traveling together by yacht, Richard goes on ahead, making sure the road to Venice is safe for his beloved.
Rose is by no means alone, however. Along her journey by packet, coach, even mule, she befriends a young couple, the Ravens, who have a strange confession to make. They are traveling incognito-and are really the newlywed Lord and Lady Strang!
Once reunited in Venice, Richard and Rose heat up the sheets, making Richard consider the delightful possibility of keeping his wife in bed for the rest of their stay. Except Venice is as full of knaves as London, and one of them is still trying to find them with a bullet.
The Ravens could hold the key to the assassination attempts. Or perhaps they are playing a deadly game of their own...
Warning: This series is addictive. The descriptions of Venice in the spring might affect your bank balance. And the descriptions of the honeymoon might affect your love life.

After 'Yorkshire' - the first in this series - read as an eBook I was so satisfied with the plot and characters that went out and bought the existing 4 books in the series in paperback (including Yorkshire). Looking forward to a pleasant Georgian Romance/Mystery I was wonderfully surprised to find Devonshire (#2) and then Venice (#3) even better than Yorkshire! Rose and Richard's relationship being the driving force - even when seperated. I cannot tell you how enjoyable it is to read of a romance couple that is truly a couple - not keeping secrets, no big misunderstandings, problems worked out - and not falling to many of the romance novels pitfalls - yet they are so enjoyable to read as charachters. The ongoing danger and mystery to me was almost a secondary storyline - because I enjoyed Rose and Richard's interaction so much. Yet, it helped create a full storyline and brought many other characters into focus. I am so pulling for Gervase to find his true love! On to Harley Street!

I'm not a fan of sappy romances, but love historical romance novels. The trick for me is finding a happy medium. I have with this series. I have never been more excited to read the next installment to see what happens next.

I am so glad to have discovered this series. This one, the third book, takes up smoothly to carry on explaining the love between Richard and Rose and also revealing the identity of their mysterious enemy. The ending was too abrupt. 5 stars only because the lovely descriptions of the relationships not only between R and R but also their relationship with Grevase and Freddy.

This is the third book in the series of Richard and Rose. I also read book one and two. I really liked the series, the only thing I felt this third book should have been included in the second series, I would have given this another star except for this. But I still enjoyed it, You almost felt like you were in Venice and it is exciting when they meet a couple that is involved in deceitful characters. They mystery continues as Richard and Rose are once again on the move due to someone trying to kill them. If you are reading the series it is well worth the read. ,
