Author of four novels, VERNA WARE'S LONG WAY HOME, SLEEPING DOGS NEVER LIE, 100 AND 5.3 POUNDS, ane JUST ACROSS THE STREET IN NEW YORK CITY, Poole also has written two detective chronicles, COWTOWN CRIME and COWTOWN CORPSE, featuring Detective Frank "Pink" Bettman. Poole's poetry is available under the title CHILDREN OF EVE. Poole has authored SUNDOG STORIES, a short story collection, and HOGAN THE HORSE BEDTIME TALES for children.

Six of Poole's plays have been produced off-Broadway and in regional theater. Her writing has appeared in 25 books and journals. Poole has over ten years' experience writing scripts for TV and radio advertising, as well as working with Barnes & Noble Bookstores, New York City Opera at Lincoln Center (on stage and off), and Van Cleef & Arpels at Bergdorf Goodman.

Dr. Poole earned her PhD in English Language and Literature from TCU. She served as the director of the Deep South Writers Conference while teaching at Southwestern Louisiana University prior to taking a position at the State University of New York FIT in New York City.
