Anyone who is a fanatic of the series Veronica Mars is in for a treat. The book picks up slightly after where the movie ends. And the gang is all back. Mac. Wallace. Keith. The dashing prince, Logan. And of course our ingenue, Miss Veronica. There are some appearances from old friends and comrades of high school days as well. It is easy to hear Kristen Bell in her classic voice over monologues as you read the words on these pages. I'm not going to give anything away; but the story is a perfect pair to the movie. I'm excited to see what Rob Thomas, and the future novels, hold for our friends from Neptune. I can't wait until a certain adorbs couple is reunited after months apart. To see how everyone grows. A flawless and seamless transition from campy teen drama, to novels that every grown up kid, who enjoyed the show can now appreciate.

The Thousand Dollar Tan Line is another great piece to the amazing Veronica Mars franchise - fans of the series will absolutely love this book and should definitely read it. It picks up where the movie ends, and all of our favorite characters are included. Even though The Thousand Dollar Tan Line is a novel, it's easy to visualize how it would play out on the screen. The plot is interesting, with plenty of twists and turns to keep everyone, even those who are unacquainted to the series and those who are avid mystery readers, interested. It's well-written and the dialogue is witty (as you would expect from Rob Thomas). I would definitely suggest this book to anyone who wants a quick thriller to read.

If you loved the show, you'll enjoy the book! I think the average reader who hadn't watched the show might be a little lost, but otherwise, well written and smart!

Can Veronica Find the Missing Girl? Spring break turns Neptune into a party town every years as college students are bussed in for a week of fun and relaxation (read drinking and passing out).  This year, however, things are different because one of the college girls vanished after a party.  Since Sheriff Dan Lamb isn't doing enough about it, the Chamber of Commerce hires Veronica and Mars Investigation to find the missing girl.  Can she do it? This book is set after the movie and features Veronica and friends as adults.  She's still trying to figure out her place at Mars Investigations, something that I think will be a plot point for another book or two.  The characters were wonderful and true to the series.  About half way through, I thought the plot of the book was going to be a bit too easy, but then it started twisting and turning and surprised me in the end. My only complaint was the voice of the narration.  It just didn't quite feel right to me.  Part of that could easily be me since I'm used to reading lighter genres.  But I also figured out that I was missing Veronica's sarcasm in the narration.  I think it would have helped if it were first person from Veronica's point of view. That was a minor issue for me overall.  I enjoyed the book, and I think other fans of the show will as well.  I will certainly be back for more.

The show was amazing, as is this book. It picks up where the Veronica Mars Movie left off. I really enjoyed reading Veronica's thoughts while investigating the case. I wish there was more Logan though. ;)  I think the next book will have more of him. Anyways, even if you aren't originally a fan of the show, you can still read the book and be able to follow. I recommend you watch the show and the movie too. The entire series is great and will only give you more insight and understanding on the characters.

I am a huge fan of the original Veronica Mars CW Series that aired from 2004-2007.  Sadly there were only three seasons and I was left wanting more and trying to find other series to fill the void.  Then thanks to Kickstarter us fans got a movie!  This seemed to open up the Veronica Mars universe again and, thus, this book series begins.   This is the first book in the series (how long it will be I do not know) and follows up right after the movie.  If you have not watched the movie yet there will be spoilers in the book (you have been warned lol).  This book is true to the characters and the universe.  The major players are all in it (or mentioned) - including some that we haven't seen since or heard from since the beginning of the TV series (don't worry I wont spoil who).  Veronica is still the smart, sarcastic girl (or I guess woman now) I know and love from the series and the movie.  The thing that did disappoint me with the characters - and it is minor - there was very little involvement with Keith (her father) and, therefore, less banter.  I loved her relationship with Keith and the daily banter between them and it was just lacking in this book.  Yes it happens but there was a fair amount of tension between them so there was less interaction and bouncing of ideas that had happens in the TV series.  That being said, the new characters that were brought in for the book were interesting, although there were few we interacted with.  The descriptions of the characters were perfect.  If found that I could picture exactly how they were suppose to look - grease old man, creepy drug minion, OCD University jock - the details in their description and actions painted a nice (or not so nice) picture. Now for the plot.  It doesn't vary too far from the TV series or the movie in that sense - but why should it.  A highly respected business woman on the town counsel comes in to hire Keith to find a missing girl but instead hires Veronica.  Veronica then has to do all the leg work for the Sheriff's department by finding out where the girl is and who took her.  The case evolves, she sticks her nose in various dangerous situations in order to find as much evidence as she can, and usually gets in a little bit of trouble.  Honest the formula works.  There are some twists and turns throughout the story, but they weren't as big as I was expecting.  I had some theories throughout the book about could have possibly happened and where it was going next - I was partially right.  So if you've watched the series or the movie then it's likely you know the formula and you may be able to figure out a twist or two - but it was still a fun ride! As a mystery book on its own merits, it was pretty good.  The characters and story was well written and I believe it was interesting enough that most readers wouldn't want to put it down.  As a part of the Veronica Mars universe, I loved it!  Perfect fit!  After I had watched the movie I was sad, it ended too quickly (being only 1 hour, 50 minutes long) and made me crave the TV series, but this book filled the void.  I got my Veronica fix and I was really entertained by it.  Thomas and Graham stayed true to the characters and how they interact with each other and did the series justice. I would recommend this book to those who like reading mysteries and those who want to read a book with little to no romance (Veronica has never had a big focus on romance).  I HIGHLY recommend this to the Veronica Mars fans of the world!  Can't wait for the next book in the series - October is too far away!

this book opens a lot of avenues for Veronica to take. It was exciting to see a little more of her thoughts, even without it being told in first person. It helped meto understand wy the city allows the sherriff to be an imbecile, and also helps understand exzctly how Veronica has changed yet stayed the same since the tv series. My only disappointment was the few scenes we get with Logan, but even those were so nice to read because we have waited so long. Please Rob Thomas, don't kill Logan off in battle somewhere, none of us could handle it! I liked this book because it reminds me more of the first and second season of the series-more about mystery than mushy, but enough of the personal dynamics to keep us rooting for and loving Veronica and what Neptune means to her, and why she cannot leave there.

Was a great follow up to the movie. I could not put it down. I read it in two days and left me wanting more. Can't wait for another book and/or movie. I can't get enough of Veronica!!!

Easy to read sequel to the movie, it shows Veronica investigating a case of two girls who disappear during spring break, while getting more into the coorupt activities of Neptune political movers and shakers. It takes a while to get going, and the second half is better. The story leaves a few unanswered questions for sequels. This should satisfy the fans until the next book or movie (fingers crossed).

If you loved the Veronica Mars series, you're going to feel right at home reading this book. As it is written by the same writer, the flow is so natural that I was able to see the scenes play out in my head as if it were a film. Loved it and cannot wait to read the next.

My daughter and I watched Veronica together. She made girls powerful. The movie that we got made was special and now books. They are as easy to read as the series was to follow, twisting and turning and keeping me guessing until the end. Keep them coming!
