Enjoyed this fun & sexy read so much I read it in one day. One of those fun reads that are light & uplifting & very well written. The story is interesting & there are some twists turns that surprised me- love that! Totally loved Veronika, she was a breathe of sassy, sexy fresh air. So excited to read more of her reporting exploits & read more by Julia Park Tracey. ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Fun New Series! This is a fun new series; this is the first book in the Hot off the Press series by Julia Park Tracey. Veronika is a sassy newspaper reporter who is stuck writing fluff pieces for the paper. When she hears rumors that a real estate developer is destroying native burial grounds she find out the truth. If you are looking for a great mystery, with a humor then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.  A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Fun, lively characters, a storyline that kept me guessing, and an ending that was satifactory without being pat. Veronika is a 25 year old newspaper reporter who has the moxie to write hard news but when her paper is bought by a big chain, she gets stuck in the corner writing about puppies and senior citizens. A chance remark leads her on a story chase, and her liberal sensibilities (she's a tattooed vegan) cause conflict between getting the story and getting involved. Real estate developers building on top of native burial grounds cause all sorts of drama. It keeps you guessing til the end if she'll succeed in stopping the bulldozers, get the story and win a sweet lover, too. Sassy sex in a couple of chapters; she sounds like a party girl. Go, Veronika!
