Each slim title includes a map and picture of the nation's flag as well as color photographs that bring to life the wide range of topics addressed. Two- to four-page chapters briefly cover languages, history, people, religions, holidays and festivals, customs, minority groups, costumes and clothing, food, and arts and crafts, providing students with lots of cultural information. Text is well spaced in an overall neat and pleasing manner. A dozen or so sidebars in each title include facts regarding Gandhi, puppet theater in India, fabrics, ancestor worship, celebrities, and more.
