I highly recommend Vietnam-Perkasie to anyone interested in the war in Vietnam. Actually, I recommend this title to anyone with an open mind who is looking for a good read about something that really happened. It is written about a young man's experiences during his time spent during the war (and briefly before and after). The author lived it, it is his story, so you get all the honest details with nothing glamorized. I had to read this book for a college course and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I'm not a history buff or particularly into war themed... anything but I have to admit that this book captured and held my interest. The author even came in our class during the end of the semester for a Q&A. He was happy to answer all of the students' questions, no matter what they were. He even signed our books and showed us other books he has written (including two more connected to Vietnam-Perkasie that I also recommend).
