From the bestselling author of In Search of Lucy

It's not easy being the son your dad never had. But Annie embraced it and became a kick-ass cop in the very precinct where her dad was killed in the line of duty.

She was building a life as a respected officer, cleaning up the streets...and falling in love with her partner. Until someone gunned him down and left her for dead.

A desperate Annie turns to a vigilante agency, stepping outside the law to seek vengeance.

The head of the agency appears to have his own agenda...his own secrets. But, Annie must work for them as they investigate the murder and help her find the answers she needs.

Working on the wrong side of the law, Annie's life has one purpose: justice. Justice for the man she loved and for the city she lives in. But as Annie's taste for the vigilante life grows, the agency struggles to control her, putting everyone involved at risk, including the two men who've grown to care about her. And the deeper she sinks into this new unsavory life, the more she fears she may never return.

Vigil Annie is a great thriller/mystery with twists and turns that keep the story intriguing and fun the whole way through. The protagonist’s name is a play on the word Vigilante and that is what gives the story its base – Annie is a believable character as well as one readers will enjoy reading about and getting to know. Her past, issues and persona are all relatable – you can be there; feel it; experience it because of the touch of realism. When I was first approached about reading the book, I was hesitant due to the subject matter. I’ve read one other novel that had a story line based in vigilantism and it was graphic and hard to read at times so I wasn’t sure what I was getting into, but let me say that I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with Fairchild’s story throughout. Annie does try to exact justice in her own way and on her own time, but in a tame/just way – she’s not out “killing bad guys” for instance. The supporting characters are as well written as Annie and I enjoyed them. Readers will experience a powerful, evil protagonist, while also seeing Annie grow in relationships with family and friends. Again, there are some twists with love interests, good vs bad and motive that keep it all intriguing and I loved every bit. Bottom line: if you’re looking for a fun, intriguing read that will keep you guessing and make sure you don’t want to stop (I just HAD to know what the heck was going on), then try Vigil Annie. You’ll like Annie, you’ll enjoy her story and you will be surprised around many turns! *I was a beta reader for this book. I was given a copy by the author so I could I read it prior to its release in order to provide feedback to the author.

Vigil Annie was a great book, I loved reading about Annie and the book plays out. Once I started reading it I couldn't put the books down because I couldn't wait to see what happens. It was very interesting and kept me guessing what was going to happen next. I love how things work out with Joe and how Annie gets her revenge. Hope that the author Lia does a part two to this book so we can see what happens with Annie. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Lia Fairchild's A Hint Of Murder Series comprising THE WRITER , THE DOCTOR and THE BOUNCER was only the tip of the iceberg of wonderful reads. Now with the release of Vigil Annie we have another well crafted mystery with great characters and a pace that flows like a river NOT a stream. Facebook is great for many things but the most important facet for me is learning about new is one you have to read

Annie is an ex-cop leading a secret life no one knows about. Searching for her fiance’s killer and ridding the city of criminals gives her a sense of purpose. She leads a double life that no one knows about. I don’t normally read this type of book but I was looking for something different to read and I was pleasantly surprised to really like this book. There was enough action and suspense to keep me intrigued. The characters were well written and there were surprises that I just did not see coming, which is oftentimes rare. This was my first read by this author and I will definitely be looking for more.

Vigil Annie was a great book with a strong female lead. Annie’s fiancé, Michael, is murdered and she is severely injured. She recovers, joins the Agency, and becomes a vigilante. I found myself constantly rooting for Annie and could feel her pain and anxiety while hoping she would be able find the closure she needs to move on. All the characters were well written and the story flowed smoothly. This is a thriller with lots of twists and turns which keep you turning the pages to see what happens next.

While I liked the plot, and the character of Annie, I found it hard to read because of all the typos....the lack of editing made it hard to read for me...example: the word "sight" was spelled "cite" twice, and it was clearly supposed to be "sight". Even a book written as an e-book needs to be edited and proof-read.
