Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle L. Olson In my honest opinion, one of the better finds in reads I've encountered in awhile. Amazing characters, a great story, solidly built world and more. And seriously... What PNR reader wouldn't want a club of bad boy biker vampires, several with tragic pasts, rules that were made to be broken, taboo relationships that are all the more sexy for their forbidden nature, danger, intrigue, and more? In Viper, we have a Vampire Motorcycle Club (the Sons of Sangue) under intense scrutiny in their small town territory after a series of murders where the victims were drained of blood. The thing is... nobody actually knows that the Sons are Vampires. On the other side of the equation we have strong, confident and sexy Detective Cara Brahnam returning to her hometown after running far and fast when she was a teenager. After her return, she puts everything she has into catching this psycho and finds herself smack dab where she left all those years ago - face to face with the sexy (and yeah, a little scary) Kane Tepes. The dynamic of this book was stellar - Vampire MC vs the Law, and when those bad boys mix with those feisty law enforcement females you KNOW sparks are gonna fly. I highly recommend this book and I am super excited for the sequel to learn more about the next Son. :)

Reviewed by Guest Reviewer/Kimberly & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog Before I give you my synopsis and review I must tell you all that it has been a while since I have gone and read a new paranormal romance. I have my mainstays, and I am now very picky with what I pick up, because if you saw my TBR pile, you would run for the hills… yup, that bad. So I put down my Highlanders and my Cowboys for a bit and I picked up Viper: Sons of Sangue by Patricia A. Rasey. Needless to say, I was a goner from the first scene… a very hotttt one at that. Not only do we have extremely attractive Vampires, but these Vampires are in a motorcycle gang. BRILLIANT. We meet Kane (Viper) Tepes and Kaleb (Hawk) Tepes, descendants of Vlad (the Impaler) Tepes III, yes, THAT Vlad Tepes. They also are the President and Vice President of the Sons of Sangue a Motorcycle Club in the wilds of Oregon. Trouble comes to town when someone or something is draining women of every drop of blood they have and leaving them haphazardly buried in the forests of Pleasant, Oregon. Detective Cara Brahnam, has recently come back to town after leaving in fear, several years before. Her eyes could not deceive her when she found Kane Tepes, ten years ago, feeding from a woman. Vampires can’t exist! Can they? Well Cara hightailed it out of Pleasant but returned ten years later after an unpleasant situation with a superior officer leaves a bad taste in her mouth. Cara is determined to solve the murders of these women, who coincidentally have similar features to her, blonde hair and blue eyes. When Cara and her partner attempt to question members of the Sons of Sangue, she isn’t all that shocked to see that Viper hasn’t changed a smidgen in 10 years, but is shocked to find herself attracted to this bad boy. Viper on the other hand is in denial. He can’t be attracted to Detective Brahnam since it would go against so many of the MC’s (Motorcycle Club) rules. Things become insanely dangerous when Viper realizes that it’s a primordial (an original Vampire) that is murdering the women, and Cara is not safe from its wrath. In fact, no one is safe. I’d say I was a tad enthusiastic in my summary, but totally necessary. What a fabulous story. Patricia A. Rasey knows how to grab the reader and not let go. Her motley crew of bad-ass bikers leaves the reader wanting more. Viper: Sons of Sangue (Book 1) by Patricia A. Rasey is high octane. A must read for all paranormal fans.. *ARC provided by author

I really enjoyed this book one of the best plots I have read for a paranormal romance in a while. The author keeps you interested as she takes you into a world you can only guess about. The author gives you thrills, action when victims are left dead with no blood in their body. The hunt is on to find the killer, all fingers are pointing to the Sons of Sangue with Kane 'Viper' as the top of the list. The one women who holds his attention might be the next in line to die that is if she doesn't pin this all on him. Sons of Sangue must follow rules to keep them alive and not let their secret out. The biggest rule of all is they must only taking blood from a group of donors that agree to be their donors and wear a necklace with a vile of blood. Kane as always been able to go by the rules until Cara comes along than he breaks every dang one of them. There is just something about Cara that gets his blood boiling and he cannot walk away from her. She has spunk with that go to hell attitude along with her sense of humor and her sassy ways that just makes him have to have her. There is no doubt he is alpha all the way and not use to taking no for an answer. He loves to play her games by getting her temper up and making her run for the hills. He is a very likable straight forward character that takes your heart way. Cara years ago saw Kane but couldn't believe her eyes and runs as far away from him as she could. With other things happening in her life she decided she needs to leave town and go back home. One of the first people she is faced to meet is Kane as she tries hard not to remember the last time she saw him and what he was doing. She finds she comes face to face with Kane at every turn with him looking to be the killer. She is sure they will call her crazy if she ever gets the nerve to call him what he is to the public. I really liked all the characters that is all but the ex's they were totally a horses butt each out to get what they want and have a little fun paying back for how they feel they were done wrong. Kane and his brothers are all alpha as they run their MC club what is there not to like about them. I really like Cara and Suzie each are strong as they seem to take on the world. The only problem I had with this story was it was stated that Cara already know what he was but his brother did not know this. When in fact he had told them earlier that she had know of their secret for 10 years and not said a word. I even went back and check to make sure I had read it correct. Beside this I thought it was a great read. I felt the author gave a wonderful plot with outstanding characters you could relate to. The story is full of passionate scenes you might want to pick up a fan. This is a page turn you will not want to put down. I bought this book on ARC for nothing this was an author that was new to me and I wanted to check it out. I now find I am so looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

Truly enjoyed the book. The characters were interesting and the more I read the more I wanted to read. I loved the way the story unfolded but was not hurried or rushed at the end. The ending left me wanting more to read.

~ 2.5 Viper Stars ~ Viper is book one in the Sons of Sangue series by Patricia A. Rasey. I’ve never read a vampire bicker romance before and have had this one on my TBR for sometime. When it popped up on sale I bought it. This is my first experience with Ms. Rasey and it was just ok. Viper aka Kane is the president of the Sons of Sangue. He is the ultimate bad boy, taking whatever he wants. Cara Brahnam, is a police detective. She ran away from what she saw 10 years ago, but is now back in town investigating a murder which leads her right back to Kane and the reason she left in the first place. Viper had it’s ups, downs and a nice plot plan with Bikers and Vampires, which got me interested in reading this book. The sexual aspects where intense and erotic. I found some aspects unique and interesting, but even with all of that I still had issues with Viper. Some of the plot points seemed un-ended or without reasons at times and some things where a bit repetitive taking away from the story. I’m not sure what it is about Viper, but it just did not fit for me. Maybe I wanted more "grit", though it did have a “dark” feel with the "Rave’s", but something was just off. The characters where ok. They never really stood out to me and I could not connect with the them. The storyline had some interesting elements, but still things did not quit work. The ending was not as “neat and tidy” as I like, leaving things unresolved Viper was an ok read and I do have plans to check out the next book, maybe it will be an improvement and will keep me reading the rest of this series. As for you if the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

Vampire Bikers...I can't say that Bikers are my idea of a great read. I don't mind violence in books but I don't like real criminals and most of the MC that I've read are criminals. I was told by all my friends in June that I've got to read this series that it is fabulous and I'll fall hard for Viper and Hawk Tepes. Well I'm pleased to say that they were not wrong. I truly enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read the next one. "Viper" is a good start to the series it had good world building and character development. The story is exciting and at times had me on the edge of my seat. It was a tad slow in places but it kept me intrigued. The Sons of Sangue are some very hot Vampires and Viper (Kane) is one sexy alpha male. I thought Cara Brahnam's character started out a little weak but then she came into her own and ended up being perfect for Kane Tepes. I think Patricia A. Rasey set the next book "Hawk" up perfectly to make the reader want more. It's a good thing I bought both the books in June.

This is book 1 of the Sons of Sangue book series by author Patricia Rasey. When I started reading this I did not know what kind of a story line it had but reading the previews of it that is what got me hooked. Cara Brahnam is a detective for a small town in Oregon but she is haunted by a nightmare that happened 10 years ago in a club. Now she comes face to face with the man in her nightmare. Kane is President of a motorcycle group and a descendant of the vampire Vlad III and has had a thing for Cara for 10 years but her being a detective and a human puts him in a very dangerous position with his brothers in the gang. This is not your ordinary motorcycle book. The story line makes you want to hate and love the characters of the book. The motorcycle characters are shown as bad asses with a temper and a mouth to match and not some simple guy on a bike but real like bikers who care only for their brothers. Raw, dangerous, suspense are words I use to describe the gripping story line for this book but I was really pulled into it by the fact that the character Cara did not give up and was ready to prove what was what. This book is for mature paranormal book readers because of strong language and sexual content and is not for everyone. There are twists and turns in this book but the author Patricia Rasey never strays from the story line and delivers a hard hitting action and adventure from start to finish.

This book was a bit different from other vampire books I have read. The biker element had been done but NOT in THIS way! The Son's of Sangue are the embodiment of biker clubs. They take care of their own and and their territory. They are of the "love them and leave them, no woman is special" mentality. They have their own laws and their own way of dealing with rule and lawbreakers. Add in the vampiric element and you have an even stronger, tougher biker, who loves harder and deeper when he allows himself to fall. If someone threatens that love all hell is going to break loose. That said we begin the book with the prologue introducing us to our characters 10 years ago when Cara Brahnam was a teen ready to go to college. The meeting left an impression on both of them! Kane 'Viper' Tepes, the great grandson of Vlad III, is the President of the Son's of Sangue MC. He rules the club with a strong hand and those who break their laws and puts their coven at risk of discovery is dealt with swiftly. He and the club keeps their business pretty clean, they enjoy staying on the right side of the law, meaning they have a deal going with the Sheriff. When women are being murdered in Pleasant,Viper becomes number 1 suspect, and the cop who is trying to pin the murders on him is none other than Clara Brahnam. The last time he seen her was 10 years before and she has been a burn in his pants since. He wants the little cop, always has. He just isn't sure he can behave himself as their laws dictate when he is with her. Clara Brahnam last seen Viper with his pants down feeding on a willing donor. She has been in denial that vampires are real ever since and refuses to believe what she saw was real. She has always been hot for Viper even when he became her nightmare she still wanted him. Now that she is having to keep coming into contact with him it is becoming combustible. She is trying to figure out what happened to these dead women and who killed them. She isn't as sure as her partner is that Viper killed them. When the actual murderer targets Clara, personal beliefs and feelings are put to the test. I am completely hooked on Patricia A Racey!! This book solidified my new found love of her writing! I can't get enough of the Sons of Sangue. It will be so hard waiting for the next installments of this series. The story is fresh and hot. I never got tired of reading. My only problem with the book was having to put it down! This is a definite read for any one who loves vampires. These guys are far from our usual vampire reads. They aren't suave 'know exactly what to say ' men. They are foul mouthed, rude, pushy and they sure as heck don't sparkle in the sunlight!! Fantastic!! **I was given a copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review**

I am a sucker for a good vampire book. My good friend Kimmie over at Book Obsessed Chicks blog suggested this author to me last year and I was finally able to cross it off of my TBR list! This story is about a vampire motorcycle club in Pleasant, Oregon. The book grabbed me from the prologue. I thought the story was a refreshing twist on the vampire legend and really appreciated Ms. Rasey’s originality in that respect. There were so many aspects of the vampirism and donor culture that I would have loved to learn more about. Hopefully I can get those answers in future books. Kane is a super sexy, play by the rules leader of the Sons of Sangue motorcycle club; but when he first saw Cara all those years ago, Kane started breaking rules left and right for this human. Ten years later, he continues to break them and nothing, not even the penalty of death, could keep Kane from Cara’s side. The book had me wanting more. There were so many questions I wanted answers to and it left my curiosity permanently piqued. I really enjoyed Kane and Cara’s story and I’m looking forward to reading about Kaleb, Grayson, Xander and the other Sons in future books.

Vampirism and a motorcycle club, plus a paranormal romance. What a combination. In this book we meet Kane Tepes (Viper) who is the head honcho of the motorcycle club and a Vlad. Women are turning up dead and drained in his town and he doesn't like it. Cara Brahnam is the lead detective on this case who also knows Viper from her past and she knows what he is. Patricia does an awesome job of writing this story and keep the reader hooked. It is an intriguing tale. It is a great book. I give it 4 stars.

Sigh. I like Vampires and I like bikers. I like fiesty female detectives. But although this book was well written enough, I never engaged with these characters. I never liked them. I didn't really like anyone in the book. I have trouble with the whole woman as piece of but when its combined with out the emotional connection to them, it is just hard to enjoy the book. There is decent world building here but the action takes away from the love story as does so many obstacles( a new one seemed to arise each chapter) to a HEA. I would have liked to get to know the couple and come to like them but that didn't happen. f you like the harder core biker books like Undeniable, you may like the darkness of this book. I was given this book for my honest review, so there you have it.

This story reminded me why vampires are my first love! I was pulled in right from the prologue – it totally grabbed my attention. Excellent story! The mystery and intrigue captured me and I couldn’t put it down. It was a great who done it! I really like that I didn't get a vampire overview, that the story just started and the fact that Kane was a vampire was a given and certain things were explained along the way. I loved Kane/Viper and Cara, how their characters evolved, grow and come together. Their story was very engaging. Fantastic chemistry and heat. The sex scenes where super hot! Besides the hotness, they have a great connection and a good playfulness and banter. I really enjoyed how we learned about both of their pasts throughout the story as well, making me like them both even more. I enjoyed the other vampire bikers too, they each seemed to have their engaging personalities. Since this book is listed as Sons of Sangue #1 I hope that means it’s in a series because I would love to read Kaleb and Suzi’s story. It was a great set up for a second book and I need more. This book had a suspenseful and intense feel with a GREAT ending - I loved how everything played out. The author has a great style of writing, offering different POV’s. Loved the drama, good flow and tempo. I was on the edge of my seat! Gotta love an intense and sexy vampire on a motorcycle! ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Kane is the president of a biker club and a vampire. He is the ultimate bad *ss, taking what ever he he has his sights set on Cara. Cara Brahnam witness Kane feeding and having sex ten years ago. Running from the reality of “vampire”, Cara left town without notice. Now she is back as a police detective, investigating the murder of women that have been drained of all blood...leading her right back to Kane, the reason she left town in the first place. An ancient vampire has its sights on Cara, can Viper (Kane) protect Cara will gaining her trust that he isn't responsible for the attacks? You'll have to read Viper and find out. This story had its ups and downs. The sexual aspects of this story was intense and immense, running through out the entire story line while few plot points seemed unended or without reason (ie. The focus on Cara's Ex). Viper has the absolute best plot plan ever...Bikers and Vampires, I was hooked on the idea of this book from the moment I read the blurb. I did find the story completely unique and interesting. Again it had an awesome premise but even with all that I could not connect with the characters. The story was also a bit repetitive, reiterating the same comments over and over taking away from the meat of the story. Yes, there was a great base and I believe with a little polish this is going to be a wonderful series to follow. I find the direction with Kaleb and Suzi extremely intriguing and would definitely recommend any vampire, biker, alpha male erotic romance fan to check out Viper . I received this copy of Viper from eXcessica Publishing in exchange for a honest review. Written by: Patricia A. Rasey Print Length: 316 pages Rating: 3 Genre: Paranormal Romance Age Recommendation: Adult
