Virtue of Death (Earthbound Angels Book 1) by Randi Perrin 5 Stars Sera Moore was chosen at the age of 18 by the higher power to become an angel. Not just any kind of angel, she became the angel of death. She also chose to follow her dreams and attended culinary school. Now 12 years later she owns her own successful bakery, Heaven on Atlantic. She bakes during the day and fulfills her angel duties at night. She feels like she has it all, except for the one thing she would really like and that's a man. Problem is she has no luck with love especially when she trusts someone enough to reveal her secret and they call her crazy and walk away. So she figures it's easier just to stay single. Until she caters a wedding and meets Destin. Destin Waters, a food critic, catches sight of Sera at a friends wedding and can't get her off his mind. After trying some baked goods that his boss brought, he does a review of the bakery, giving it a B rating. He gets a chance to meet Sera again when she confronts him about his review. He does all he can to break down her walls and as he does and she begins to trust him, he reacts like all the rest when she reveals her secret angel life. When something happens and realizes he was wrong can he convince Sera that he is the man for her? Will she forgive him? When tragedy strikes and threatens to change everything, can these two make it through or does fate step in, making the decision for them? I really liked this book, I loved the story, the characters, and the flow. I'll admit the title made me think this book was going to be something totally different, I am so glad I went ahead and read it. Don't let the title throw you off from reading this book. It was amazing!! This is my first book by this author and know it won't be my last. I can't wait to read the next one about Sera’s best friend, Cheryl.
