About the Author

Sandra A. Young, OD is an optometrist with a special interest in nutrition and vision. She earned her doctor of optometry degree from Pacific University, College of Optometry. Dr. Young practiced optometry in private practice and military medical facilities. As a home chef for over fifty years, she has catered large parties, won cake decorating and recipe contests.
Compelling research has shown that ocular wellness and disease prevention can be promoted through nutrition, diet and lifestyle. As the author of the award winning Visionary Kitchen: A Cookbook for Eye Health, Dr. Young has found the perfect recipe; she combines her passion for cooking with the science of ocular nutrition. Her second book, Heal Your Dry Eyes: Nutrition & Recipes is due to be published February 2108.

Anne Marie Coutts, DTR, is a nutritionist and photographer. She received her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California in 2012 and has designed nutrition plans for all ages. Anne Marie developed a passion for photography early in life. She combined her expertise in photography with her interests in food science, health, and wellness. Ultimately, her knowledge and talents in these areas has all come together in Visionary Kitchen. Besides photography and the culinary arts, she enjoys fitness, especially cross-training and yoga.
