Who stabbed the philandering football coach in the back? Was it one of the three women who left romantic voice mail messages on the cell phone found next to his body in the motel room?
The police don't have a clue. None of the coach's family, friends, or colleagues recognize the voices of the unidentified women--and probable mistresses. Who could they be? This sounds like a case for Pamela Barnes, local Psychology professor, acoustics expert, and sometimes amateur sleuth. Can she identify the three women (and potential murder suspects) from just the sound of their voices on the voice mail?
Who are these mystery women and how did the popular coach manage to conduct affairs with all of them unbeknownst to everyone around him? And how did he keep his trio of lovers from finding out about each other-or did he? It's a tangled romantic web that ultimately led to murder and Pamela Barnes is determined to figure it out.

This was a very interesting book to read, as it was intriguing right from the start. The characters are easy to get to know as you go along, and I found myself feeling as though I was right there with the main character trying to solve the murder investigation. Once I found out that this book was in a series, I instantly wanted to read the previous books. I don't think that it's imperative to read the books in order, but I think it would be neat to find out how the main character solved the previous murder. I don't want to say too much to give away the main plot of this book, but it's one that grabbed my attention right from the start.
This is one that you need to allow plenty of time to read because once you start it, you won't want to put it down. This author now heads my list of "must reads" and I am going on line now to see if I can find another by her. A lot of suspense, twist and turns and just when you think it's done. Hold on because it's not over. Patricia Rockwell keeps the suspense building until the very end. I waffled back and forth about who the killer really was almost to the end. Good plot and character development. Well worth the time spent to read this mystery. Eerie, suspenseful, well written, with just enough creepy and action to keep you enthralled - I highly recommend.
