Although this book has a "Pub. Date: 11/16/2010," it is an old book. I've read so many of Mariah Stewart's books that I didn't realize I had already read it until after I bought it. The book is good but I don't understand why there was not any mention of it being reissued. It makes me not want to buy any more Nookbooks. Very disappointed.

Mariah Stewart can tell a story. I didn't start at the beginning of this series and so I'm catching up on the back stories of these FBI agents.

I'm very funny when it comes to this author. I either love them or not. This was one that I really liked. I would recommend this book to anyone. Loved the fact that they didn't meet and found themselves madly in love. There is history with the characters. Very believable.

Genevieve 'Genna' Snow had a rough childhood. Until age eight she lived with her parents and attended a religious camp called Shepherd's Way with Brother Michael. When Brother Michael tried to rape her, she fought him off and ran! Patsy Wheeler found her cowering on the front porch the next day. After the trial. her parents abandoned her and Patsy became her foster mother.

Genna Snow became an intrepid FBI agent that specialized in child crimes, especially kidnaping and pornography. Since Genna knew the area surrounding Bricker's Lake and the Amish community, her boss sent her to spend time at Patsy's house by the lake. She was to observe the Frick Farm. Drugs had entered the young Amish. It did not take long to solve.

John Mancini was also FBI and Genna's former lover. After a tough case, which involved entering the mind of a killer, he disappeared. He told no one (not even Genna, his live-in fiancée or family) where he went or why. He needed time (6 months) to straighten out his corrupted thinking patterns. When he returned to duty and he set out to win Genna back, no matter what it took.

John had a new case about several women who had disappeared without a trace from various parts of the country. Genna was busy with her long lost sister, Crystal, who appeared back in her life to heal old wounds and shed the hurts of their childhoods. But someone from Genna's past was coming back for her. She was numbered to be the last woman on the kidnapper's list. Only John could save her.

***** A heart stopper! The story wraps a lethal hold onto the reader, never to let go! Highly recommended reading here!*****
