One look.

Just like that.

That's all it takes for me to know I wanted Ava for more than one night. She takes a single look at me and only sees a player.

The young, single mom doesn't give her trust easily. Convincing her I want more than a one night stand is the best thing I've ever done until it all crashes down around me.

As I'm framed for crimes I didn't commit, I fight to prove my innocence and battle to convince Ava and her daughter to stay.

When the stakes rise, will I be able to prove my vow of devotion?

Vow of Devotion is another awesome, well-written romance by Emma Renshaw. Hudson and Ava's story is sweet and lovely with a bit of suspense. Single mom Ava captures his attention at first sight when they meet in a park playground but Ava only sees playboy when she looks at him. Determined to win her over he sets about to change her mind and convince her that he wants more than a one night stand. The suspense comes in the form of escalating troubles at the site of his new housing development and being framed for crimes he didn't commit, possibly ruining the relationship he's building with Ava and Lily. Mostly though, this is just a really wonderful story about a man who wasn't looking for "the one" but he found her anyway. The relationship that develops between Hudson and Lily is heartwarming and beautiful as well. I absolutely love every single book I have read by this author and can't wait for the next one. I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.

Lovely book. Hudson has played the field, but takes one look at Ava and bites the dust. He knows she is “the one” and she comes with a daughter, Lilly, which just makes it so much better. Ava on the other hand is reluctant to get involved but they become friends and slowly work towards an HEA. Well rounded characters that were like people you know. Their reactions and behaviors were right on target and everything fit together nicely. There was low-angst, slow burn story. This is the first book I’ve read in the series, but this does work as a stand-alone. I’ll be going back and getting the previous books because some characters were previously introduced. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

5 Stars Review by Elizabeth Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog Absolutely amazing! Vow of Devotion by Emma Renshaw is about a single mother hesitant to find her happy ever after. Ava and Hudson have got to be the most sweetest couple I have read about recently. Lily, Ava’s daughter, just puts the icing on the cake. Ava is a single mom to an adorable little girl, Lily, and has recently moved to Austin, Texas to put her degree to use. When she meets Hudson at the park, she may be attracted to him but a relationship with anyone is not on her radar. I love that Ava and Hudson’s relationship was realistic for a book. Yes, there was sparks flying when they met but Ava does not jump at the chance with him. Normally books that contain a single parent are ‘sexy’ from the beginning but this one is a slow burn. Like a really slow, slow burn. There was a mix of emotions within the book that kept me on my toes throughout. You have a mystery within the book as well that will keep you turning the page. Overall I have not one bad thing to say about Vow of Devotion. I think Emma did a raving job with the characters, the emotions, the plot, everything. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from her.

Ava, a single mom, and her darling daughter Lilly have recently moved for Ava’s first teaching job. New city, no friends they are starting over. Ava doesn’t have contact with her mother, her only family. A day in the park turns into a chance meeting with Hudson and 4 of his nieces and nephews. Ava doesn’t trust easy and Hudson has never been interested in more than a fling. Will this instant attraction turn into love? This was my first Emma Renshaw book and I am so looking forward to going back and reading the rest of the series. I am sure the character background is better if you have read all the previous books but it can be read as a standalone. We get the perfect mix of romance and mystery with Vow #4. Emma Renshaw created characters that are very relatable. Looking forward to more by this author.

Vow of Devotion is book four in the Vow series by Emma Renshaw. This is my very first book by Emma and I’m just in love. This book grabbed me right from the start and never let go! Ava Kincaid is twenty four years old and has finished her masters degree in elementary education, all the while raising her six year old daughter, Lilly by herself. After all the years of struggling, she has secured her first teaching position as a third grade teacher. She’s nervous and excited to finally become a paid teacher. The job was in Austin, Texas so she and Lilly have just moved from San Antonio and are getting settled into their new apartment. Ava is trying to give Lilly a few fun days before the start of school and that is where she first meets Hudson, while at the park with Lilly. She can’t take her eyes off of him, same as every other woman in the area. She knows his type, a player. She’s a mother and that is her first and only priority. There is no room in her life or Lilly’s for a play boy. No matter how easy on the eyes he is. Hudson Wells grew up with four brothers. His father founded Wells Builders and one by one his brothers went into the business with their dad. It’s been about a year since Hudson officially bought into the family business. He’s about to head up his first huge project, building a new neighborhood in a beautiful setting. Hudson was babysitting his cousin’s kids at the park the first time he laid eyes on Ava. He knew right away she was different. And he was also instantly in love with her adorable little girl. But it was evident that Ava was a lot more reluctant to get to know him than he was with her. She was all he could think about. He had to somehow convince her to give them a chance. If he had to be her friend for awhile until he could convince her of something more, that is what he would do. “I don’t know what it is about Ava or why I’m so completely drawn to her. All I know is I want to peel back her layers, know every inch of her body, and simply be with her.” Hudson falls hard for Ava and Lilly and I loved how quickly he accepted that this was it for him. It took Ava a little longer to decide that Hudson was worth the risk. Hudson had so much going on right now. Not only was he falling hard for Ava, he was starting out building his dream neighborhood. Things aren’t starting out very well on the build site, though. “You’re trouble, Hudson. You’re going to be so bad for me.” “No, I’ll give you everything good. I’ll do bad things to you.” I loved this book. What a way to be introduced to Emma’s writing! Hudson was so good with little Lilly. They took right to each other which made Ava fall for him even harder. He has so much on his shoulders with the new build, with a new relationship, and the trouble at the site. This was such a sweet story with that little build up of suspense that I loved. Hudson’s family is completely fantastic. I loved his mom! She’s a little tiny woman who somehow was able to raise five rambunctious sons. This book was fun, sexy, sweet, and even a bit suspenseful. I enjoyed it so much and look forward to seeing what Emma is doing next. “We’re building something together. Something I didn’t see coming, but now I’m determined to devote my life to.”

4.5 stars! I totally devoured this book, single mum books are one of my favourites tropes and this one didn’t disappoint! I loved watching Hudson change from fun loving playboy to completely smitten and working to get Ava to give him a chance, loved the storyline and the flow was perfect, I couldn’t put it down!
