Emmanuel Bove (20 April 1898 – 19 July 1945) was a French novelist and short story writer who became part of the novelist Colette's literary circle in the 1920s. Although his writings were popular and well-known in France, only recently is his work becoming known in other languages.
This story appeared in two parts in the magazine Les Annales politiques et littéraires: revue populaire paraissant le dimanche, May 1 and May 15, 1928 (No. 2309 and 2310).
