Overview

The Voyage of the Star Wolf (Star Wolf Trilogy #2) by David Gerrold

The first work in David Gerrold's Star Wolf trilogy, this tale pits the human members of the Star Wolf space vessel against the superhuman Morthan crew. Captain Jonathan Korie, hampered by the loss of most of the human fleet to the Morthans and a nearly disabled ship of his own, faces the Morthan threat driven by the need for survival and the desire for revenge. A classic of military science fiction, the Star Wolf trilogy combines rapid action with powerful studies of military character.

The book starts off slow with a lot of technical information about the star drive and the ship. Keep reading. It is a good story with a very good character and universe development. Looking forward to the next two books in the series.

This story had plenty of action and all of the elements necessary for any true science-fiction novel. The Voyage of the Star Wolf keeps you on the edge of your seat, suspended much like the characters in free fall as you wonder how they will make it out from the terror of the Dragon Lord. It is also filled with humor and kept me laughing constantly. Although a great read, the story had lack of background information leaving me wondering about much of the plot line.

There was a larger black tom kit walking slowly behind. "Raven! Keep up!" The shecat called back. "But Cole im tired and hungry..." Raven complained. The gray tom looked at Cole. She nodded and he found a little hollow at the base of the tree. He slipped in and put the small kit down. "Cole, You feed the kits and ill go hunt...." Cole slipped in and layed on the ground by the small kit. "Thank you Ash," Raven layed by the small kit and began to eat. "Eat well young Wolf." Ash whispered...
