She's broken.

He's lost.

Olivia Crawford had been through the ringer. All she wants is to start over without any complications or anyone figuring out her secrets. When her twin brother Finn convinces her to move back home and finish her degree at his school, it's just the push she needs to start over.

Nathaniel Ford is the golden boy of SCU. He seems like he has it all, perfect family, awesome friends and fraternity brothers, and a few buildings on campus with his last name on them. But things aren't always what they seem.

From the first time Nate and Olivia bump into each other, literally, he wants more of her feisty attitude, but Olivia throws more walls up with each step he takes closer, and he isn't sure he can break them down fast enough.

A good story about all the thinking that people over think when dealing with the opposite sex. Sometimes we even overthink the actions when dealing with anyone.

This is my first book reading Alyson Reynolds and I really enjoyed it. While some parts were a bit juvenile it still kept me wrapped in the story.

*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.* This is my first story from this author and it was wonderful. I cannot wait to read more from this author. This book stars, Olivia she is attending college where her twin attends. One day she bumps into Nate and runs off before he gets her name. Then when she goes to visit her brother, she meets his BFF, Nate and that's where Nate and Olivia meet with names. Olivia has had a rough for several years. I am not spoiling the why but she also has a nasty ex who stalks her. So she is very anti anything with Nate. So they begin a friendship. Now the fact that Nate is her brothers BFF is just a fact in the story, it is not an issue. I loved how open and accepting he is of Nate's interest in her. This story was a college based story and I love those. This is more centered on school and college life and non sports themed as Nate is pre-med. I also really loved all the characters except for Lila and the ex. This story was really sweet and romantic. I cannot wait to read the next story in this series.

Waiting to Breathe is book 1 in the Waiting Duet by Alyson Reynolds. This book focuses on college students Olivia and Nate. Nate is the "it" boy at the college. Olivia is the new girl on campus. They first meet as they knock into each other, literally. We see how Liv starts in this story as a closed off scared girl. She has gone through so much heartache and pain in her young life. Nate is this cocky self assured boy, or is that just what he wants people to believe. He has to deal with being older than this young years because of a parent that couldn't parent after a traumatic experience. They become friends although Nate wants more. But there is a sense that something is holding Liv back from opening up to something good. Just as she finally starts bringing down the walls she has built up the past comes colliding with her present. All the trauma she went through brings her back to that insecure girl resulting in pulling away from everyone again. Is Liv strong enough to put herself back together and move on with her life? Can she fully commit and trust that Nate is her forever? These characters are written so well by Alyson that there is no way to not fall in love with them. You will root for them throughout the story. We are introduced to so many awesome characters in this story that it keeps you guessing who the next book will be written for. I can't wait to see what she comes up with in the next book.
