I had been looking for a good book to read, and I came across this one. This book is fantastic! I couldn't put it down. I loved the main characters especially Rachel. This book is a must read.

Rachel de Luca's uncanny sense of perception is the key to her success as a self-help celebrity. Even before she regained her sight, she had a gift for seeing people's most carefully hidden secrets. But the secret she shares with Detective Mason Brown is one she promised to keep. As for Mason, he sees Rachel more clearly than she,d like to admit. Very good story. I love her writing.

I requested this book from Net Galley and received it in exchange for a fair and honest review.  This is the third book in a series. I have loved everyone. Maggie continues the charged relationship between Mason and Rachel and keeps the suspense on all levels. I had no idea who the antagonist was until she revealed it. If you like suspenses, I highly recommend this book. Maggie tells a gripping story, with her usual wit and descriptive writing.

Sequel to Sleep With One Eye Open. Incredible story, suspense, action, intrigue, romance....something for everyone. Tension kept building with each page and the ending was totally unexpected. I read it cover to cover with just time for lunch. Ms. Shayne is a very talented writer.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle: *eARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review Wake to Darkness was another truly epic and tantalizing read in the Brown and de Luca universe.  Maggie introduced a wonderful twist on the antagonist, some serious character growth and development, and plenty more of what we all want - Rachel snark, Mason goodness, and Myrtle. :) This second installment picks up a few months after the events of Sleep With the Lights on, though this book could stand alone (although I wouldn't suggest it, you're missing some fantastic reading!).   Like book #1, there's a killer on the loose, but this time, the culprit is targeting recipients of Eric's organs, and in a twist from book #1, Rachel has dreams from the perspective victims this time, not the killer, which lends a truly heightened emotional edge to the events that unfold.  The family dynamic in this installment is a large part of the story, and it was great to get more info on both Rachel's family and Mason's and watch as they helped to bring Rachel and Mason's on again, off again relationship status to a head. Finally! And there are most certainly some sexy moments to enjoy... just sayin'. While I did see the identity of our killer before it was ultimately revealed, it didn't detract from the big reveal at all, and Maggie most definitely  shook things up with this big bad. :) Another superb read Maggie!

Detective Mason Brown and self-help author Rachel de Luca thought the killing had stopped when Mason’s serial-killer brother, Eric, committed suicide.  When the murders continued, they stopped the two men who had received some of Eric’s organs that continued his killing spree.  It was definitely over.  Or was it?  Now someone is killing the rest of Eric’s organ recipients, and they have to figure out who the murderer is before it’s too late.  You see, Rachel, who had been blind since age 12, was the recipient of Eric’s corneas, which restored her sight after 20 years of blindness.  She’s next on the hit list if they don’t stop the killer first.  After failed attacks on Rachel and Marie, Eric’s widow, Mason and Rachel take the entire family to a remote ski resort.  However, the killer has also decided to hit the slopes.  Will they stop the killing before it’s too late for Rachel? I didn’t read the first book in the series, so I was a little lost in some areas.  However, I think Shayne did a good job of providing enough explanation.  I wasn’t sold on the part of the story line where Rachel has dreams about the killings.  Honestly, I didn’t really like Rachel as a character, although she grew on me by the end.  (Myrtle, Rachel’s blind dog, was definitely my favorite character!)    I had figured out who the killer was pretty early on, and I couldn’t believe it took Mason and Rachel so long to figure it out.  The clues are definitely there!
