This was an amazing story, although it was rather dark and sad. It could have been so much better if it had focused more on the point of view of the people Raul Wallenberg was able to save. The author, whose own grandparents were killed by the Nazis, seemed understandably bitter about the failure of the world to act to help either the Jews or Mr. Wallenberg when he was arrested by the Russians at the close of the war. At 282 pages including footnotes, I would recommend it to those interested in the history of Hungary during the war rather than those looking for an inspirational read.
