Wanderlust by Lauren Blakely (Audiobook) Narrated by Richard Armitage and Grace Grant Series: Part time Lover book 1 2 Stars - This was not what I have come to expect from Lauren Blakely. I found it very slow and I wasn't too keen on the leading lady. Sadly I also didn't feel much chemistry between Joy and Griffin. There were a few funny parts and the ending was nicely done. I enjoyed their happily ever after. The narrators were decent and clear spoken. ~Paragraphs and Petticoats~

Joy Danvers-Lively decided to take a new job overseeing the fragrance lab at L'Artisan in PARIS!!!! She had had enough with her boyfriend, Richard and wanted a break from everything. Joy has been trying to learn French, but she will still have an interpreter with her during the days at work. Her first day in Paris Joy wanders into a bakery and hears the most delicious, British accent she has ever heard....coming from a tall, dark man with a sexy butt and he starts flirting with her. Griffin Thomas has been living in Paris for a year. It was an item on his brother Ethan's bucket list that they made while his brother was dying. Just as he was finally able to leave Paris for his next journey, Griffin finds out that he has been reassigned to a different job, not the big cushy one that would have earned him all the money he needed to leave. Now he has to be an interpreter for and American woman who is an organic chemist. Griffin is enjoying flirting with Joy. It's the first time in a long time that a female has excited him since his brother died. After they part ways, they both keep thinking about the other. Imagine their surprise when they are introduced later at her new job. Oh, the fun banter between these two was superb! Both very quick witted! As these two spend more and more time together because of work, it quickly turns into more time together after work so Griffin can help her with her French even more. The sexual tension between these two was explosive. Once they finally crossed that line it was LOOK OUT!!!! I really enjoyed both of these characters. Griffin was chasing a dream and he ended up finding something completely different than he thought he was looking for. Joy was running from life and ending up finding just what she really always wanted. I really loved their happy ending. It was just perfect!

I love everything that Lauren Blakely writes but this book is her very best book EVER! She did a wonderful job creating two characters that were absolutely mesmerizing because their yearning for each other was palpable in every chapter and their love of Paris came shining through in all of those chapters as well. I will most likely never visit Paris, except in my dreams, but after reading this delicious book I feel like I’ve walked the streets of Paris, dined on the fine cuisine and gazed at the moon from the rooftop terrace where Joy and Griffin find themselves falling in love with the city and each other. Best. Book. Ever.

I really enjoyed this love story between Joy and Griffin. Joy is a chemist who decided to take a job in Paris to get away from her ex after a bad relationship. On her way to meet her translator, she meets Griffin at a little coffee shop. After flirting with Griffin for a few minutes and deciding that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to have a fling in Paris, Joy comes to realize that Griffin is her translator! After they realize this, Joy and Griffin agree that things need to stay strictly professional between them. Hired to be Joy’s translator, Griffin quickly realizes that keeping things professional could be very difficult. Joy is a bold, exuberant, amazing woman that he falls for a little more each day. But he’s got plans to leave Paris after the 3 month assignment is over to fulfill a bucket list his brother made for him. So getting involved with Joy wouldn’t be a smart idea. What happens between Joy and Griffin over the next 3 months is so romantic. You can imagine walking the streets of Paris at night, the lights, the smells, the tastes. You almost felt like you were right there with them! Lauren’s writing style truly brings the city of Paris to life! She also makes you feel what the characters feel. The feelings of loss when Griffin talks about this brother. The bubbly, joyful feelings when Griffin and Joy work their way through the tastes and sights of Paris as he teaches her the French language. I truly enjoyed reading Wanderlust and would highly recommend it to everyone!

“Paris is where you go to reinvent yourself.” I wish I could rate this book any higher, Lauren Blakely has outdone herself with this masterpiece! She has made me fall in love with Paris all over again. Wanderlust is definitely one of those books that you just have to read and read all over again because it’s just that good. From the sexy cover to the intriguing synopsis, Blakely has managed to deliver a book full of love and adventure that will leave you wanting for more. After going through a bad relationship, Joy Danvers - Lively is ready to move on with her life and when she is offered the job in Paris that she has been wanting it doesn’t take her long to accept. Now she is on her way to star a new life, and hopefully love Paris enough to stay there permanently. While she liked working for a cosmetic company in Texas, Joy has managed to snagged a job with her company’s French devision where she is going to work in a lab formulating new fragrances. Though this is an exciting opportunity for her, Joy is not fluent in French and that is making her transition a bit harder for her. But with the little she knows she is ready to start practicing the language without holding back and that is when she ends up meeting a very handsome stranger at a bakery while trying to help her translate what she wants. It’s the sparks between them that set off right from the start and although she is not sure if she’ll ever see him again, they flirt back and forth not wanting to say good-bye. It is until the next day that she finds out that the hands stranger is non other than Griffin Thomas, her translator for the next six months. Now that would have made Joy happy, but they’re working together now and wanting anything else with him will never work out. Griffin Thomas loves Paris and knows it like the back of his hand. But what he loves the most are all the odd facts and curiosities of the city that you may not find in guidebooks. After living in the city for a year, he has done so much and he is ready to move on onto his next adventure. But when his last job didn’t turned out that way he had hoped, his boss gets him a new/last job before leaving the city for good. He never expected to meet Joy and as her translator he wanted to keep things professional, especially when he is not going to be in Paris for long, but her attitude towards life and energy are making it harder for him. He wants Joy, but there are still tasks that he must fulfill and he won’t get them done if he stays in Paris. When she asks him to teach her French, Griffin agrees and as the two start to spend even more time together they start to realize just how much they have in common and how much they want each other. Neither one was looking for a relationship, but the city that they love brought them together. Now it’ll be up to them to decide if they want to move forward or not. There is so much about this story that I absolutely loved! The characters were so relatable and full of life. Lauren Blakely has given us such vivid descriptions of Paris that made the story that much more magical. What captivated me the most was the romance between the characters, their chemistry was sizzling and swoon worthy. Griffin is a Brit living in Paris and his relationship with Joy is fun and charming. Joy is lively and sees things differently. Her attitude towards live is contagious and fun. They’ve proven that they can have it all.I highly recommend reading Wanderlust, you will not regret it!

What more could an American girl embarking on a bold new life in Paris want than a swoony Brit to help her get acclimated and teach her the language of love? Joy Danvers is more than ready for a change in her life, so ready that she's packed up, picked up, and winged her way to France. Joy has a love of all things French, but what she doesn't have is a complete handle on le francais. Enter Griffin Thomas. A Brit abroad, Griffin is working on the bucket list that his brother couldn't complete, and paying the bills by acting as a translator. As luck would have it, Griffin ends up with Joy as his newest customer. The chemistry between these two is electric from the get-go, but mixing business and pleasure is a no no, or at least that's what they tell themselves. Lauren Blakely has infused WANDERLUST with her usual blend of sweet and sexy, and, in keeping with the theme, a very palpable joie de vivre. Lauren's obvious love for Paris shines through in her descriptions, and in Joy's continually growing love for her adopted city. And the care that Griffin brings to fulfilling his list while being swept off his feet by a certain American girl makes him that much more yummy. 5 étoiles brillantes for WANDERLUST. If this book doesn't make you want to hop a plane and spend the spring in Paris, I'll eat my hat. Add it to your TBR, and enjoy. P.S. It didn't hurt that I also listened to the audiobook of WANDERLUST. Hearing Richard Armitage and Grace Grant bring Griffin and Joy to life made this even more wonderful. Do yourself a favor and have a listen!

4.25 stars--WANDERLUST by Lauren Blakely is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, erotic, romance story line focusing on American perfumer/ chemist Joy Danvers-Lively, and British marine biologist/language expert Griffin Thomas. Told from dual third person perspectives (Joy and Griffin) WANDERLUST follows the building relationship between American chemist Joy Danvers-Lively, and British chemist and translator Griffin Thomas. Joy is a woman on a mission when the perfume company for whom she works offers her a position in their Parisian labs –a position that comes with a sexy interpreter. Enter Griffin Thomas, a British marine biologist who specializes in several languages and the man with whom Joy will fall in love. What ensues is the slow burn of sexual attraction, and the potential fall out when their time together draws to a close. Griffin has a bucket list of things to do; a list to honor his brother’s final wishes but with it comes the responsibility of completing the list against all odds. Falling in love was never on the agenda but falling for a spunky American woman meant a change in direction Griffin never saw coming. The relationship between Griffin and Joy is one of immediate attraction. An accidental meeting between strangers that turned into something more. Griffin knew to fall in love with a client could only result in disaster at the very end but falling in love meant spending what little time left in Paris with the woman that called to his heart. Joy would never keep Griffin from completing his list so when the time came to say good-bye her heart knew she was losing the one. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive. The sexual banter is fun and flirty. We are introduced to Joy’s friend back home Allison; Elise –an American living in Paris, as well as Griffin’s pal and fellow translator Christian; and Joy’s Parisian boss Marisol. Christian and Elise’s story line is next in Part Time Lover (June 2018). The world building follows Joy and Griffin as they take the reader to the sights and sounds of Paris-the usual tourist attractions as well as the local bakery, shops, cafes and more. Paris comes alive on every page and description narration The perfumes, the scents and the building aromas are tangible and real-you can almost detect the subtle hints of floral and citrus bouquets. WANDERLUST is a sweet and sexy story line with two sassy characters. The premise is spirited and tender; the romance is heartwarming and provocative; the characters are colorful, energetic and inspiring. WANDERLUST is a story of romance, butterflies and happily ever afters.

I have been panting for this book for months. An American "girl" in Paris with a gorgeous, rugged handsome British translator...It's as if Lauren Blakely and I share the same fantasies. I took French at 13 for the very moment I would find a French man to marry. As I got older my need to stop and listen to accents that put me on edge increased and to this day a sexy foreign tongue has me losing my mind. (Just ask my south American hubs) Wanderlust is exactly the vacation from my snow covered New Jersey life. It's Paris. It's new and exciting. It's an adventure. A romance in the City of Lights! What could possibly hold you back from the ultimate fantasy... Wanderlust only needs the British accents whispering in your ear to bring you to completion and I've been told the audio book does just that. So take it from a lady who lusts after accented encounters, this book will give you the vacation to wander and explore right from your favorite reading spot. No passport or language lessons required. I’ve never been to Paris, but I took four years of French in high school as well as four more years in college, and when the lectures and/or assignments turned to Paris and its overwhelming beauty and sensual atmosphere, my wanderlust for seeing it in person dominated my mindset and made me long for a time in my life where I could visit the City of Lights & Love and revel in all that it has to offer. Unfortunately, that time has not yet occurred, so while I wait to make my dreams a reality, I’m glad that I can dive into a story – one set in one of the most romantic locations on Earth – and experience all that is Paris, France, through the eyes and ears of two fabulous main characters and an author who knows just how to ‘romance’ readers, inviting us to immerse ourselves in the wonder and awe that a city like Paris brings. What I love most about Griffin and Joy’s story and how Lauren Blakely presents it is that readers take this amazing journey of love and adventure with the hero and heroine; we get to witness the build-up of attraction between them and the path that they take from strangers to workmates to friends and then finally to lovers, and boy is it an entertaining dance Griffin and Joy take as they try to temper that lust due to the nature of their professional relationship, but readers know it’s only a matter of time before they give into what’s been developing from the start and because Blakely does such an amazing job of bringing readers with her as Griffin and Joy’s professional interactions become much more private, readers can almost pinpoint when the characters’ lust-filled feelings no longer remain hidden and not acting on them is no longer an option. Through Blakely’s descriptive writing, my love affair with Paris flourished and because she constructed such multifaceted characters my love affair with her stories continued, and anytime a writer can make her readers feel like they are part of the cast of characters who surround the hero and heroine and watch their connection grow into something amazing, she’s done an incredible job of bringing not only her characters but the romantic and sensual atmosphere to life in unforgettable ways. Griffin and Joy’s story is a whirlwind romance of epic proportions, and it’s one I’d gladly take over and over again because not only is it one hell of a love story, it’s also an amazing way to experience a foreign city in all its splendor because Lauren Blakely captures all that Paris is and all that it means to those who live and travel there, and that kind of description cannot happen unless it was experienced firsthand, and I love the fact that Blakely got to experience wanderlust as she brought Griffin and Joy’s book to life because, to me, it makes it that much more powerful, giving Blakely every advantage in order to showcase a love story between two people and for the city that is all about love, romance, and beauty. 4.5 Poison Apples

I listened to this audiobook first and then still read the book because it was that awesome!!! I feel like I have just returned from the most magical, fun and romantic trip to Paris courtesy of Lauren Blakely! It was absolutely fabulous!! The narrators were phenomenal and really brought Griffin and Joy to life in the most wonderful of ways. I definitely have a trip to Paris on my bucket list now, but I want to do it Griffin and Joy style!! Griffin and Joy are so warm, genuine and real and I just adore them both so much! The depth of each of their characters is very apparent from the beginning and you just have to get to know them. From the moment we meet them in the story and then they meet each other, you just know it is going to be everything and so much more! It's funny, emotional, steamy, sweet, sexy, witty and charming and just so unique and special just like Joy and Griffin. I just can't say enough about this book or these characters and the cleverness of the story line itself, it's positively amazing! This is a must read or listen if you want to hear Griffin read by Richard Armitage and his sexy British accent and Grace Grant was fantastic as Joy as well!!!I loved this book so much I did both!! It's definitely in my top 3 romances of this year so far!!!

I absolutely loved everything about this romance! This fun, witty, sexy love story transformed me into the heart of Paris, and in turn, nestled Joy, Griffin and Paris into my heart as well! Joy is looking for a fresh start from her life in Texas, when she takes a new job in Paris. She is so excited to experience all that the city has to offer. When she meets a sexy Englishman at a bakery on her first day, their banter is fun and sexy. The sparks fly, but the timing isn't right. Unfortunately, Joy discovers this sexy Englishman is her translator for work. Griffin needs this job as a translator to continue his wanderlust and complete his list. But this smart, sexy, American in Paris will turn his world upside down and make him question his purpose. As they navigate their working relationship, they can't stop their witty, flirty banter, while fighting their forbidden desires. Joy and Griffin are great characters and I was cheering for them all through their thrilling, moving, and romantic journey. I loved visiting all the wonderful Parisian areas. Blakely not only brought the famous locations of Paris to life, but she skillfully brought out all the subtle touches, smells, and tastes that will make you fall for the city of love & lights. I loved every minute of this moving, romantic, and seductive love story!

**I received an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review** If this book did nothing else, it made me want to visit Paris more than I already did! This story, and the setting, were romantic, swoonworthy, and beautiful. Even though I've never visited, the pictures that were painted by the author's words transported me and I felt like I could see them in my mind's eye. Joy Danvers-Lively was ready for a change. She was ready to leave every bit of baggage she had in the States behind and embark on a Parisian adventure where she began a new job and a new life. This bubbly, smart and creative woman is ready to live life to the fullest, but with her limited knowledge of the French language is the one drawback to her plan. Griffin Thomas is a transplant to Paris as well, as he is British, and working for a translation firm. Griffin is working his way through a bucket list of sorts and that means when his last long-term assignment comes to an end, he will be heading off on more adventures around the world. But when his firm asks the handsome, laid back translator to stay on to help a new client, he decides he will do this one last job before jetting off. As Joy and Griffin begin working together, not only do they get along on a professional level, it's clear they are attracted to one another. They develop a friendship and engage in many flirty exchanges, but both want to respect their working relationship and neither is looking for a relationship anyway. But the question is, will they be able to deny the sparks between them that are growing while they explore the City of Love? This is one of my favorite Lauren Blakely books to date. While I love everything she writes, this one was definitely more romantic and I loved how connected the characters were and how they just seemed to "get" one another from very early on in their relationship. I also felt like Joy and Griffin helped each other in ways that were completely unexpected, which I loved as well. I would highly recommend picking up this book and I am so looking forward to the story that Lauren has in store for Joy and Griffin's friends!

5+++ Stars for Wanderlust!!! I loved loved loved Lauren Blakely's newest release. This book is the sweetest, dreamiest, most magical work from this author to date. With a swoony British hero, an effervescent American heroine and a passionate love story, there is no doubt in my mind Lauren Blakely has another winner on her hands!! I mean c'mon, that's romance gold. I am so in love with the characters. Griffin and Joy share an insane level of chemistry. I couldn't get enough of them. I enjoyed their fun and flirty interactions and their made for each other connection. Right off the bat, you noticed how perfect they are together. Lauren Blakely always gives us the best heroines. Women who are real and good. Joy is a freakin’ delight in Wanderlust. She’s fun, sassy and bold. My favorite thing about her is how she loves. Whether it's a guy, chocolate or a pink door, she loves with everything she has. I absolutely adore her!! Then there’s Griffin. He's just another perfect Lauren Blakely hero. Incredibly charming, hotter than hot, and just plain yummy. I'm crushing pretty hard on him. There were moments that I wanted to give him a hug because of what he lost. I'm so happy Griffin and Joy have each other. I have never been the girl who longed to go to Paris. Beautiful city but it just wasn't for me. That is it wasn't until now. Lauren Blakely did a phenomenal job painting a portrait of a gorgeous city filled with hidden gems and unknown quirks. I now have another item added to the ever-growing bucket list thanks to Wanderlust. I loved this book so much and I highly highly recommend it. Wanderlust is the kind of book where you let out a dream sigh when you reach the end and then make plans to reread it. So romantic and charming. Pick it up immediately.

What a sweet and swoony romance! Joy and Griffin were playful and fun, but they also had red hot chemistry. I loved the build up between these two. Their initial meeting is more lust driven, but the reality of their situation keeps them from taking it further than anything professional. Well, at least initially. ;) I really enjoyed seeing their friendship blossom and grow organically. When they can no longer deny their feelings, it feels natural and right that they would take this chance to explore their relationship. Joy and Griffin are more mature characters and there is no other man or woman drama. I appreciated that our characters knew what they wanted and stayed true to themselves. Each of them has dreams and passions that the other nurtures and supports. I loved that they were strong individually as well as together. Both had emotional baggage, but they were actively working to get past it and become better people because of it. The epilogue left me with a huge smile on my face and fans of Lauren Blakely will love this newest adventure! *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

Lauren Blakely is a master. All she needs is a pen and paper to set my imagination ablaze. Wanderlust is a bit old time Hollywood with modern day adventure. Joy and Griffin take readers on an escapade fueled by beautiful scenery, sexy banter and a passionate attraction that sets the pages on fire. For Joy a change of scenery lands her in over her head. She came to Paris to find herself and may end up leaving her heart behind. Griffin is every woman's fantasy. The look, accent and attitude are enough to steal your breath, but the way he treats Joy is hard to resist.

What a dreamy, romantic world Ms. Blakely has given us with Wanderlust- the sights, sounds, and scents of Paris are brought to life with her storytelling. Griffin and Joy are a true delight, they'll make you believe in love, in soulmates, in the happily ever after. You'll wish to be transported to Paris to travel the side streets, visit the bakeries, and drink wine on a rooftop. Between this book and Melanie Harlow's Frenched, I really need to find my way to France. Although, knowing me, I'd get there, wander around for a day searching for angels and sundials, and then spend the rest of the time in my hotel room reading and ordering room service, with snacks on the bed all around me. I'd never find myself a Griffin or a Lucas, but I'd have gained 10lbs and read a bunch of good books. Heck, now that I think about it, that sounds kind of perfect! *runs off to book a flight*
