A cute story about a girl who has come into some pretty extraordinary powers and now needs a protector. I really thought that this story had a lot of potential, but the overall story just seemed to be missing something. It seemed to be a lot of back and forth. It reminded me a lot of the beginning of Twilight, where Bella couldn’t make up her mind.  A little wishy washy for my taste, but young teens will probably love it!

*Ebook obtained as part of a blog tour in exchange for an honest review* Wanted pulled me in from the synopsis so I was very excited to dig into this novel. During the first few chapters, I wasn't pulled right in though. It took a few chapters before I became really invested in the story. I'm not sure why that was exactly... it may have just simply been getting used to the setting. Overall, this seemed like a short read. I read the entire thing in one sitting because once I was invested in the characters, I didn't want to stop reading. Ashlinn goes to a school where there are vampires, witches, and humans mingling together. Her best friends are both vampires and she's a witch. I really enjoyed Cora & Matt. They were both great characters. Conor...swoon. Of course he's the guy who holds Ashlinn's attention - The vampire who she's had a crush so deep that it's hard for her to explain why she feels such a connection with him. The story takes an unexpected twist that throws everyone into a serious whirlwind of action. In order to ensure vampires from all over don't begin to basically throw themselves on Ashlinn, she must become a vampire's familiar by the end of the week. It's awesome that she was realizing that she was obviously quite powerful....however, it came with the cost of having to become a familiar. I thought it was an interesting plot twist and I couldn't wait to see how it turned out. And...enter the triangle of sorts... Ashlinn must decide if she's going to become Matt's familiar (her trusty best friend / protector) or Conor's (hot crush who is trying to prove his honestly and gain her trust). Cora is her anchor through everything and I really appreciated having her character there (even though she wasn't a huge focal point). Conor tries to prove himself to Ashlinn and, honestly, I thought it was going to be a ruse and there would be something sinister behind his intent. Matt, her best friend and protector, tries to separate his emotions from the situation and give Ashlinn what he thinks she wants overall... but things just don't go the way any of them are expecting :) Now, the story was full of plot twists and huge surprises. I won't ruin them for everyone so I'll just say that they were GREAT surprises - even the ones that were related to negative events. The ending... Holy freaking crap. Seriously??!?! That's where it ended?!?! I want to know if this novel is going to be part of a series? I'll be honest and say that one premonition and then the ending, suggested that this novel could be a fabulous New Adult, more mature YA, nearly adult type novel that I would totally swoon over. Jeewiz. Seriously? I can't believe it ended where it did. I kept trying to flip the ebook's page but it was the end!!!!

I’ve decided the author needs to make this a trilogy or a series or something! You know I’m not a vamper fan, but hot damn if this isn’t a really good one!!! I was so torn between these HAWT pieces of male specimens! Lol and heads up guys- this is a FANTASTIC love triangle, well kinda!  at first I was all Team Matt, then I kinda switched to Team Conor, then back to Team Matt… And in the end there’s a plot twist so who cares hahahaha I’m a fan, right now, and will beg the author to gimme more!!!! So, Ash is my kinda girl. She is a witch, who is pretty simple, who has two best friends that are vampers, and a major crush on another. She finds out in a really odd moment that she’s a lot more powerful than she thinks, and suddenly she’s like a steak to all vamps. Giggle! I love her personality because she’s not afraid to admit she’s scared, she’s honest, she’s smart, and funny, and I love Et sarcasm. And I love that when she made a decision she stuck to it. ok, I will talk about her friend Cora first before I jump to the HAWT-ness  Cora’s the coolest best friend EVER! I love her. She’s enthusiastic, she’s loyal, she’s hilarious, and most of all, she’s a good friend. Honest when it’s needed and softer when it’s called for. And then there’s Matt, who makes the BFF trio. Ash, Cora, and Matt have been friends and I love their interactions. Matt is the sweet, attractive boy next door, who saved Ash’s life, and is just like her protector. And the Conor is the totally gorgeous nummy guy, who is friends with Matt, but not really in their circle, other than him being a vamper. Things get really complicated, really quick when Conor accidentally bumps into Ash in the hall at school. LOL… I still giggle about her nose comment to him  I actually liked the fact that the author played more into the plot twists than the lie triangle. Yes, it’s there, but it’s no the main perspective. And the plot twists!!! Oooooh the bad guy was definitely a throw back. The whole time I was worried about “him” when I never expected “him”… Not that you will because the author definitely worked that mystery into surprise. Well done!! How about I just say that this is especially a fun read! You should read it! Ms Annika- pretty please gimme more! I know it’s a stand alone, but you could change this- for me  definitely a good time! 5 FANGTASTIC PAWS!

Wanted by Annika James takes a new twist on the love triangle. Powerful witch Ashlinn needs a vamp protector. There's no shortage of offers, but she's mostly torn between her hottie crush Conor and her rock of a best friend Matt. Her attraction to Conor is carnal, but her bond with Matt was solidified years ago when he saved her life. Throughout the story Ash struggles to control her power and her emotions, often feeling like she doesn't know who she can trust now that her growing power is putting her in danger.  Annika James entertains the reader with classic paranormal elements, but adds her own brand of magic filled with wit, romance, danger, and just the right amount of sexual tension to spin a fully engaging tale. I enjoyed every minute of Ash's journey from unsure teenage girl to a young woman who knows what to do with her power.
