War Crimes: The Left's Campaign to Destroy Our Military and Lose the War on Terror by Robert "Buzz" Patterson

This blistering indictment of the American Left lays bare the well-coordinated and well-financed campaign against our nation’s armed forces.

“Brilliant . . . Buzz takes on the enemy we are compelled to confront here at home, and he does so in the manner of all good combat veterans–no b.s., name by name, and driving headlong into the ambush."
—General Thomas G. McInerney, Fox News military

“To demonstrate the real-world consequences of those working to undermine U.S. efforts. . . [Patterson] went to the front lines to interview about 300 troops.”
—Philadelphia Inquirer

“Patterson doesn’t mince words.”
—Washington Times

“Nearly everyone claims to ‘support the troops,’ but War Crimes identifies the who, what, why, and how of those who, instead, actively undermine the mission our nation called our troops to do. . . Way to go, Colonel.”—Major Eric Egland (Air Force Reserve), author of The Troops Need You, America

Typical rightwing screed. If you disagree and dissent with the policy of people on the far right you "hate America" and "blame America first." Amazing, but when a Democrat is in the oval office then disagreement with the far right is in fact never unamerican (as it is not) but the height of patriotism! Look, the policies of a president is not America, and considering the far right understands this when Democrats are in control, I for the life of me can't understand why they don't understand it when a Republican is in office. Hannity, Limbaugh, Delay and rightwinger after rightwinger opposed President Clinton's Bosnia campaign, fine. They didn't hate America by doing so. The very concept of sedition or treason is common on the right and not just for those who actually say, give tangible military aid to a nation but those who disagree with the policies of the far right. Again, this does not apply when the president is a republican. Lastly according to the far right, if you disagree with the far right, then you hate the military. So I must ask when Limbaugh and Hannity disagreed with the Bosnian wars, did they hate the military? Of course not. Some on the far left go a bit far in their view of the military but when dissent becomes unamerican, we cease being a free nation.

Patterson's new book makes the claim that the 'Left' (ie anyone who does not hold his political beliefs) is actively sabotaging America's military. He defines his enemies as any who 'second guess' military and diplomatic policy. The resulting chapters are an ode to militarism, a jingoistic absurdity which any reader will recognize as incompatible with cherished American ideals of democracy. Where else but in a democracy do the people have control over their government and military? Instead, Patterson seeks to place the military on a pedestal beyond the reach of publically elected policy makers. Wrapping himself in the cloak of patriotism, he seeks to undermine the very Constitution which he claims to hold so dear.

'warcrimes' I think is pattersons best book yet. he documents case after case of the left constant attempts to disrupt and dismantle our militarywhile at the same time making the situation more dangerous on the ground for our brave men and women. the arthur along with many documents also as an added bonus includes some very indepth interviews with soldiers who have served on the front lines and reveal first hand what certain politicans and comentators of the left are doing to put a stumbing block in the road to freedom for the middleeast. after reading this book I got a beeter understanding of the situation in iraq and I feel this publication will open up fresh debaiting points in the 2008 presidenial race.
