I really enjoyed Warden. I had seen it recommended around, and I just hadn't thought about reading it, to be honest, but I'm really glad I did. When it comes to indie author's, there are just so many out there, that it's hard to get to the really great stories sometimes. There are times when you read a really great book and immediately start asking yourself why this person isn't more popular. It doesn't happen often for me, but that's what happened in this instance. I'm really glad I listened to the recommendation this time. Moving on. This story is really funny. Max was hilarious, and she made others have fun. All of the characters, except Ryker at first, had a really great dynamic. They got along well, and they sort of all fed off of each other's energy. It made the book a lot of fun to read. I liked that Montana Ash could have made this a very serious story, but didn't. I'm glad Ryker's character takes a turn, he was a bit of an ass in the beginning. Warden was fun to read, and I'll definitely check out the rest of the series.

Take a feisty, pint-sized woman drop her in the midst of a bunch of warriors including a grumpy, alpha male with a stick up his rear and what do you get? Warden. It was an explosion of one-liners and banter that kept me grinning and giggling throughout the book. Max, the heroine, is my spirit animal. Alone for most of her life, she’s a survivor and takes no crap from anyone not even a bunch of pretty men and women who have been around the block a time or two. Ryker is the unofficial leader of the ragtag bunch of warriors Max has stumbled amidst. He’s got a world of guilt sitting on his shoulders and a stick the size of Everest up his bum. The two clash and the chemistry sizzles. The other warriors add doses of humor into the mix while Montana Ash builds an intriguing world of magic. I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble the group gets into next.
