Warehouse 13 Volume 1 - Powerful Artifacts This graphic novel was excellent. I really enjoyed it. If you have ever watched the television program it is very similar to that show. As on the program, there are three stories and each of them connect together to make a good story. In this graphic novel, there are three artifacts that need to be found by Secret Service Agents, Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering before they land into the wrong hands and there is threat of the destruction of the world. Artie Nielson (NSA code breaker) and Claudia Donovan (computer expert) are also part of this great team. Artifacts are dangerous and powerful items from history which have been stored in a warehouse in the Badlands of South Dakota. You will have to read the graphic novel to find out what the artifacts were and who was behind the misuse of them. The graphics and humor are great. You will have to be sure to read this, it will not be a waste of your time. ______________ This review is based on a free electronic copy provided by the publisher for the purpose of creating this review. Warehouse 13 Volume 1 is the best graphic novel adaptation of a TV show that I have seen. It contains the same humor, intensity, and interest level, as the three year old SyFy Network series. The plots held my interest - and brought me back to read more stories the more I read. If one is a fan of the TV series, there is no doubt that this book will be worth the time spent moving through the graphics and stories. Because the book provides no introduction to the back story that leads up to this book, it may not as interesting to someone discovering the storyline for the first time. The comic may have done a better job of holding the interest of a new reader if there had been a short prequel or appendix that set up the cast of characters and their role in the on-going plot. Even a seasoned viewer might find a brief review of help. Take time to read Volume 1 of Warehouse 13’s graphic novel - the series has only been improved with these new stories. ______________ This review is based on a free electronic copy provided by the publisher for the purpose of creating this review. I am a huge fan of Warehouse 13, and so as soon as I saw that there was a graphic novel out, I had to get it. I was a bit concerned about the writers getting the feel of the show into comic book format, but it felt to me just like reading some episodes. No time frame is given on when the stories take place, but since Steve isn't around, I'd have to say it is likely seasons 1 or 2. HG isn't seen or mentioned, either. The B&B is mentioned, but we never see Leena, and Mrs. Fredric only shows up in one frame. Still, they got Pete, Myka, Claudia and Artie right. A definite must-have for any Warehouse 13 fan.
