Gimme some more of that Chimerae sexiness! I absolutely love the cover… However, I feel that the girl- who is supposed to be representing Saia- is just a little TOO hot. That being said, it definitely catches my interest and made me want to read the story. Now, onto the book’s contents. I am going to keep the rating secret on this one until the end of the review, for no other reason than I feel that this book should not revolve around what rating I am going to give it. I want to talk about the content and how it made me feel, first. Hottie, Hot, Hot, Hot, Hot, Hot! Did I mention hot? I did? Well, how about exciting, intriguing, mystifying, mesmerizing, pulse-racing, fascinating, amazing… How many more words can I use to describe this book? Because, it deserves all of them. This was so freakin’ fantastic, that I may re-read it… and I NEVER do that! Lindsay Avalon has knocked it out of the Paranormal ballpark once again. She is fast becoming one of my all-time favorite Paranormal writers. Keep it up, Lindsay! Best-selling material indeed. Now, all that being said, my rating for this book is… A++! ~Genevieve~

Warrior Unleashed is a novella that runs somewhat parallel to Breaking the Nexus as far as time frame. However, it should be read in between Breaking the Nexus and Waking the Phoenix. It is not a standalone.  This novella is the story of Sha’s half-brother, Achaius and his mate, Saia. Warrior Unleashed bridges a gap between Breaking the Nexus and Waking the Phoenix. The reader will understand the characters and events in Waking the Phoenix, so much better after having read it. It also builds on our knowledge of Sha’s background and Mytheria in general.  Achaius is an absolute alpha and sexy as hell. He seems to understand Saia better than she does herself. They’ve danced around an attraction and pull towards each other for years. Achaius had suspicions that they were mates, but until the beginning of this novella, he had not pushed the issue. However, someone is hunting sentinels and as Saia’s partner was just killed, Achaius gets a bit of a wakeup call. He sets out to convince Saia that they are right for each other and that they need to work together to solve the problems plaguing the sentinels. Once of the things I loved most about Achaius, was his understanding that Saia is not a damsel in distress who needs to be sheltered and coddled. He knows when to back off and let her stand beside him, rather than behind him.  Saia is a tough chick. She doesn’t need anyone to carry her burdens, she can take care of business all on her own. As independent as she is, I could have easily seen her as being the kind of woman whom would need a tremendous amount of convincing when it came to accepting Achaius. However, it just improved my opinion of her when she saw the truth in front of her. And while, she continued to be strong and confident in her abilities alone, she was able to see the benefits of having someone who will constantly support you and be there if you are in need of comfort. I loved that about these two. They gave each other the freedom that they needed to be who they are, while giving to each what they need to find a neutral balance in their lives.  Their attraction radiates through them and they definitely bring heat to the pages of this book. Their love scenes are steamy, with just the right amount of volatile passion and sweet loving. The mystery that unfolds just adds to my opinion that Lindsay Avalon has an incredible imagination. It went in direction that I would not have expected.  This is a short read and I devoured it rather quickly. At the end, I couldn’t do anything except move right on to Waking the Phoenix. The author kept me hooked all the way through.

I read book one, Breaking the Nexus about a year ago and loved it. Warrior Unleashed takes us back to the realms and show us a bit about what has been happening there while Sha (from book one) is stuck in Earth. We get to meet her brother, Achaius, an amazing hot panther shifter - I've always had a thing for the cat shifters. He has set his sights on a Sentinel by the name of Saia and is determined to have her.  Unfortunately, Sentinels are dieing, and he suspects something is up. There is a lot of excitement in here and a lot of love. Predator shifters seem to be a territorial protective bunch and that doesn't always mesh well when they fall for a kiss-ass alpha female type. Their banter is amusing and you can tell they enjoy it as well.  Saia has several near death experiences in this novella, but Avalon was able to keep everything unique and different. The villain was a HUGE surprise, yet made perfect sense. And I just know something more is going one that we just haven't been told about yet! I'm dieing to keep reading.!  This was a great look back into the series and I hope to see Book Two, Waking the Phoenix, which looks like it will be out soon.

Lindsay Avalon Warrior Unleashed Mythrian Realm #1.5 A quick read, this book follows Breaking the Nexus and provides an insight into Achaius & Saia, ready for book 2, Waking the Phoenix. A thoroughly enjoyable action packed read, this book kept me turning page after page, and the hot scenes definitely got my imagination going. The characters and world are well developed and I loved the chemistry and bond between Achaius & Saia – Saia definitely isn’t one to be told what to do. If you’ve read Breaking the Nexus then this book is a must read to continue the story.

When I was reading this book I had forgot that it was a spin off from book 1. The story can be read first or by itself, its that good. It wasnt until I was toward the end that I went "OOOOOOOOh" (insert face palm). I love all the characters that have been introduced in this series. I cant wait for the next book!!!
