Wasteland by Deborah Krider

Two couples become lost in the woods when their relaxing boat excursion comes to an abrupt end after their Bayliner runs aground. Their situation worsens when they realize they are not alone. Something is after them. And as day makes way for night, and the terror of their surroundings makes itself known, it becomes a fight for their very lives.

About the Author

Greetings ~Thanks for visiting my Smashwords bio page. A lifelong love of books lead me (as most authors) to writing. I'm not ashamed to admit I use reading and writing as an escape from reality. The constant chaos moving around out there can't reach me when I'm immersed in books and writing.Although I’ve always felt partial to reading and writing horror I really wanted to give my drama, Even In Stillness There Is Rhythm a shot. It was an opportunity to really work on character development, which for me is the most important facet of a story. I really like my characters in that story. Especially Johnny. He was a labor of love. How could I write about a man who is kind and sensitive, yet still a strong masculine figure? I think I pulled it off okay. You can read 40% of my novel for free on this site, and please check out my other stories, My Sister Shelby story about a young girl in the lazy summer of 1976, and Vamp.0, another version of the old legend.Blessings and all the bestDebbieThe beauty in our hearts, transforms the world around us ~ Red Bear

I don't like giving negative reviews, but this story started out good and declined with each page; as i read, i remember different horror, sci-fi movies i have seen with a group of traveling friends stranded, they go to find help which leads into the woods, an old abandoned house or barn, etc;: hence Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Wrong Turn; & maybe I watch too much sci-fi movie channel
