Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
K - Gr 3 Lovable Ronald Morgan discovers through humorous mishaps at school that he does not see clearly. His understanding teacher sends a note home suggesting an eye examination, Ronald's eyes are promptly tested, and he is fitted with the blue-framed glasses of his choice. Told in a forthright manner but with appreciation for children's candor, the book's dialogue rings true with catchy humor. Giff obviously recognizes Ronald's need to feel unique and be cherished for his uniqueness. Natti's illustrations show the characters to be bright, colorful informal figures who move with the text. A good selection even for collections that have Marc Brown's Arthur's Eyes (Little, 1979) because the focus is different. A helpful note for parents follows the story.
