The scramble for position in the new-minted power structures is becoming manageable, the inconvenient truths are being absorbed, and a Seraph is reunited with his angel. Now the post-mortem for a world can begin, the questions of causation can be looked at. Who did this to us, why did they do it, what shall we do to them?
Pull back from the world - from the viewpoint of a god (Gaia, perhaps), the world continues in rude health with some minor readjustments, such as the numbers of one of the species. Viewpoints are tricky things, and a god's-eye view would be a lonely one, no matter how attained. What's the difference between a god and a virus, between a point of view and a war-crime? When can the greater good justify the death of so many view-points?

About the Author
My professional life can be summed up as 'three degrees and no career', or alternatively, 'physics, philosophy and floods of tears'. The degrees were all part of the desperate lifelong project to understand the world. During those years I was constantly trying to get answers from spiritual or therapy groups and classes but never felt I fitted in and never understood why.
But then, just as I was completing my thesis, I met the best Heppel-handler in the world. He and our two sons helped me to join the human race.
When I got the Aspie diagnosis in my sixtieth year, it explained everything and came as a huge relief. It was after that that I began writing Poor in Spirit.
Hobbies include gardening, scuba diving and poking sharp objects into fast-rotating pieces of wood.
Oh, and taijiquan.
