*This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review* Walter is a very rich 35 year old man who is used to getting what he wants, and what he wants is the most beautiful woman in their town named Eden. However, Eden is 17 years his junior. Even though her father works in the mines all day, they don’t have a lot of money, and Walter knows that. He says that if Eden will marry him, she and her parents won’t have to worry about money ever again. They all make excuses as to why she can’t marry him day after day, because they don’t want her to be married off to such a cruel, heartless man who only loves money. One day Eden’s father has an accident at his job in the mines and is killed, and her mother takes it very hard and passes away from a broken heart. Eden is crushed and Walter thinks that she will finally marry him but she still refuses. He feels that if she won’t be with him then she can’t be with anyone and proceeds to beat her and tosses her body into a lake where the magic “water skippers” protect her. Years later a man named Kyle is new to the town and after checking things out comes across the lake where he finds Eden. She’s stayed in the water all these years but finds Kyle different and interesting and wants to get to know him more. Kyle goes to her lake whenever he can to visit and a strong attraction grows between them. For so long, all Eden had was her lake and her water skippers but she’s finding that she just may be starting to fall in love. While I did like the story, I do think it does need a little bit more editing work. There were missed punctuations throughout and it went from third person, to first person, back to third within a sentence or two and it was a little jarring to me sometimes. I don’t mind a story being either but it seems to flow easier if it’s either/or not both so close together. There were quite a few quotation marks missing too, and since this story is very dialogue heavy, with quotations missing it was difficult to understand what was actually being said. However I did enjoy the story overall and would recommend for a light and fluffy quick read. ***Review has been done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official. If you are a fan of many genre's of writing, this story is for you. It starts out like an historical novel, moves into a murder thriller, then to a whimsical/fantasy legend with whispers of "Lady of the Lake" thrown in, then to a ghostly romance, finally culminating in a contemporary romance that while contemporary, is conducted with all the charm and morals of an historical romance. The little nuances and gentle romance are sure to make you fall in love with both Kyle and Eden. You cry with Eden, then cheer as she finds her confidence and her love. You hurt with Kyle as he wants for something he knows is out of his reach and his reality, then smile with him as his fondest wishes are granted. This is a gentle, loving glide from one genre' into the next all wrapped in one story. I truly loved it and will be reading the next very soon.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. "Water Skippers" by Jennifer Miller is the story of Kyle and Eden. This is a magical..Fairyland type story although it does start with a harsh reality of how cruel some people are...it ends with how magical love is. This is a sweet and clean type of romance. Eden is young and is left alone with a sick mother near death...a neighbor who is a young man wants to marry her. But Eden doesn't want him and tries to fight him at ever turn. Without giving to much away we find Eden some years into the future where she meets Kyle. They both seem to fall in love very quickly but there present and past issue that might keep them from find a happy ending. But love always wins doesn't it? This was a really different type of book for me that I greatly enjoyed and was glad to have the chance to read it.

It was my pleasure to read this delightfully enchanting story. What starts out as a more than painful life for Eden after the death of her father becomes a journey to a mystical setting that surrounds her with love and protection. Will the sight of a young man shatter her world or cause fate to intervene in their lives? This story takes you through a number of emotions. I found myself sad, and a few pages later I was smiling. I loved the character’s personalities. The horse, Trig, even had his own set of issues, as well as, a sense of honor. The story flowed nicely and it made me curious to know how it would end. I think you will enjoy this magical love story as much as I did. This is the first book I have read from Ms. Miller and I look forward to many more. I received this book for an honest review of her work.
