As they search for a group of kidnapped children who have the gift of enchantment, they must negotiate the unforgiving desert and the even more treacherous Palace of Cobwebs, where they uncover the dreadful secret that holds the Empire together. Meanwhile, Darrow has broken away from the group to form a new alliance of his own. Can he still be trusted? In this book, Calwyn's quest for peace and justice has greater consequences than she ever could have imagined.

I was very surprised when I found myself being absorbed into this book. I had enjoyed reading the first book, but thought it lacked something. But when I read The Waterless Sea that feeling completely disappeared and I was left with that wonderful feeling when you know you found a new series that you love. This book has something for everyone fantasy, adventure and just a dash of romance. I felt connected to the characters and felt that this book helped you to grow more attached to the characters compared to the first book. I was drawn into the story at every suspenseful part and had a very hard time putting this book down. I just can not wait to read the third book, but know I will be sad when I conclude this series. I definitely recommend The Waterless Sea and Chanters of Tremaris series.

I began to read this series for the first time about 6 years ago and I loved it then. At the time, the third book had not yet been published and I anxiously awaited it. Now that I've bought them all and read them again, I am just as pleased with them as when I first read them. I would highly recommend this trilogy to any lover of fantasy. Honestly, this trilogy is one of my favorites. Kate Constable does not disappoint.

Hey there! I just got done reading the second volume, and it's AWESOME! If I thought that the first one was good, then I'm mistaken. In this one, it shows the details of a simple fairy tale. What about the songs of power? What about the people? What are their customs? Oh! This book will go further into detail, teaching you as it teaches Calwyn. And I can't believe how much she has grown up! Follow her, AND Darrow, as they have their adventure in Tremaris and Merithuros (sp?). This book hints alot more towards love and villany a little bit more than the first. Like... SHOCK... Is Darrow... JEALOUS?! Continue reading guys! ^_^

I wanted to read a few middle school Battle of the book's books, so I read The Singer of All Songs. It was ok.I was so absorbed in The Waterless Sea it was very hard to put it down. I love the ending, it leaves you on a cliff hanger that makes you want to read the next book. My favorite characters are Calwyn,Halasaa, Mica, and Keela. This a must-read book!! Great for people who enjoy fantasy and adventure.

Ah, I loved this book. Much better than the first one. It was and edge-of-your seat story, in my opinion. The author seemed to grow in her writing ability. It was exciting and interesting every moment I was reading it!! If you read the first book, read this one because it is better! Trust me!

This book was so beautifully written. The description of Darrow's childhood and the feelings Calwyn has and what happens in the Palace of Cobwebs is so amazing. This book makes me feel very sad however.

The people of Tremaris are only held together by an Empire....dramatically Calwyn and her friends end up in the middle of it! Only wanting to help the people like her, Calwyn goes from adventure to adventure to end up creating something great and losing something just as precious.

As I said in the first book, Kate Constable writes a very well-written story. Yet this one (I think) has more emotion and detail. This book also made me think a little more then other books do... It was just one of those page-turners

The Waterless Sea is one of the best books that I have read so far. It was absolutly incredible. The Singer of All Songs was good but TWS goes beyond what the Singer gave you. The fact that we really get a chance to see into Darrows past is amazing. I couldn't believe what had happened to him. My advice is to READ this book! It is AWESOME!
