Debi and Ray have four miniature Dachshunds: Toby, Scarlett, Dottie and Bella Graycee, and a Maltese named Princeton. Debi has published two coffee table books on dachshunds titled The Loooooooong and the Short of It: A Dachshund Coffee Table Book and The Loooooonger and the Shorter of It: A Dachshund Coffee Table Book II, which have been widely successful. She plans a third book in 2017.

Ray is the author of Path to Truth: The Ray Stanton Story, which chronicles his life from age two to twenty-seven. Ray grew up in a poor share-cropping family. Life was rough and by age twenty-seven Ray felt he had no reason to go on. He took steps to end his life, but God had different plans for him. He has been a pastor for more than thirty years and focuses on missionary work and evangelism. Together Debi and Ray have formed: What God Wants ministries.

Daniel Burton still lives in Waynesville, Indiana, just down the road from where the gruesome murders happened. He is deeply troubled by what happened and relives the horror every single day. He hopes this book will bring him closure.

Reviewed by Michelle Randall for Readers' Favorite Author team of husband and wife Ray and Debi Stanton have taken great care in working with Daniel Burton, the lone survivor and witness to the Waynesville murders. They have also worked to corroborate as much of what he said as they were able. That all being said, please know up front that what Daniel Burton went through is a life changing ordeal and he was left without a support system to help him deal with what had happened. This is not a book to be read by anyone that might be triggered by his trauma. Waynesville, Indiana: Mother's Day, Murder & Mayhem is Daniel's story of what happened that night in May. These are his memories, thoughts and reflections on the people who died and the effect that it had on him. Waynesville, Indiana: Mother's Day, Murder & Mayhem is a non-fiction book as it is a true event that happened in a very small town, if you can even call it that, just outside of Columbus. It is a true crime story in that it talks about the crime that was committed, but mostly this is Daniel's story. His mother and her long-time boyfriend were murdered, plus two others, and he was the one to find them and call 911. He was left all alone, his father having died years earlier. Authors Ray and Debi Stanton explain how they worked with Daniel and give you a real insight into how this event has affected him and left him to this day. He was left completely alone; no support system, no help, nothing to deal with what had just happened to his family. In some ways Daniel was the fifth victim of that night. This is a good story, but it could easily trigger sensitive readers.
