Molly offers the basics, covering color, shape, form, font... most of the areas where beginning designers in any medium suffer. One of the most useful features in my office has been the full-color center section featuring examples of certain color combinations, which is great when you are explaning to a client why certain colors work and some don't - just whip out the book and show them. Some of the examples featured are a little dated (or don't exist on the web anymore) and I wouldn't rely on this book if you want an HMTL reference. It's for developers who need to be able to design well. A code-hacking programmer can take this book and create sites that look good by following Molly's advice.
