Like so many others I thought the series was completed so when I saw this I was really excited to read it. Also like many others I got my hopes up. It's not a bad addition to the series but I'm wondering what was the point of it. If it was to introduce Tam's arc I really believe it could have started as its own series after the wedding of his friends. That's another thing, I think there should have been more time between the events of the last book and this rather than a few weeks. I think it would have given more impact on the characters if there had been some breathing room. They couldn't expect to clean up all the corruption of the entire citadel in just a few days. The wedding business....I love seeing my 2 favorites tie the knot but it seemed to forever for Raine to say yes so her wanting to get married less than a month after just doesn't seem right. There could have been a lot more spark between her and Mychael considering they're engaged. And it wouldn't have hurt Raine to not have her MIL's immediate approval. So yeah it wasn't up to par like the other novels which leads me to believe it's meant to be a bridge over to Tam, whose book I hope to see a lot more between him and Imala. That too was missing from this.
