Overview

Ayden Livingstone is eleven years old. He likes playing soccer and hanging out at the library with his best friend, Sage. He dreams of one day meeting his father.
But whenever Ayden has asked his mother about this mysterious man, she's always put him off. He's tried to press her, but she tells him, "What you don't know can't hurt you." When Ayden's mother suddenly goes missing, it's up to him to figure out what has happened to her. There's a dark secret she's been keeping from Ayden all his life--and he suspects a connection. Could it be that his mother is far more than she seems?

About the Author

Rebecca D. Bruner is an author, wife, mother, Bible teacher, and conference speaker with over twenty-five years’ experience in women’s ministries. She has a passion for helping women embrace God’s “very good” design for themselves and their families.

She has spoken at several conferences and women’s retreats, including Momentum 2016, and Women 4 Truth in 2012. Rebecca taught Bible studies for at-risk women and girls at Hope Women’s Center before serving for two years as a mentor and speaker for Faith Church of the Valley’s Moms Connect mentoring ministry. In 2013, she taught “Partners in the Battle,” a Bible Study on marriage based upon material from her latest book, A Wife of Valor: Your Strategic Importance in God’s Battle Plan.

In 2014, Rebecca won the “Promising Beginnings” scholarship to attend the Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference. She serves as treasurer for Christian Writers of the West, the Arizona Chapter of American Christian Fiction Writers, and as secretary for the Mesa Christian Writers Fellowship critique group.

A member of the inaugural class of the Flinn Scholars, Rebecca graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in English Literature from Arizona State University, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa honor society in 1990. As an undergraduate, she was fascinated by medieval literature. Her favorite modern author is C.S. Lewis. She is especially fond of his Chronicles of Narnia series and Till We Have Faces.

Rebecca’s own fiction titles include Welcome, Earthborn Brother, an allegorical science fiction novel for young readers; Mary’s Perfume and Sarah’s Laughter, two biblical fiction novellas; and My Fairy Godfather, a collection of her short stories which originally appeared in anthologies and online magazines.

Rebecca’s primary goal in writing fiction is to share her joy in telling stories with people who will find joy in reading them. She yearns to give readers a fresh perspective on God’s timeless truths and challenge them to apply those truths to their daily lives.

In addition to writing, Rebecca’s favorite pastimes include walking barefoot in the grass, baking cookies, and riding her bicycle around the lake near her home. She loves art museums, live theater, traveling, and going to summer camp.

Rebecca has two adult children, who make her very proud. She lives in Arizona with her husband and two cats.
