About the Author

Educated in geology and anthropology, writing lured Skhye away from finishing her thesis in (bioarchaeology) anthropology. Aside from muscled men in fur, leather, denim, and kilts, Skhye loves cultural ecology, cultural evolution, cultural relativism, and natural processes. Big ideas. Simple concepts that manifest in world building to crazy people like Skhye who studied anthropology and geology before turning to writing romantic fiction. Her rule of thumb is to love the good, the bad, and the ugly of every culture in her tales so that every culture in her tales and every aspect of her stories resonates as real as possible. And yes, she's "certifiably" geek.

5 Stars! Loving Lucius is another tale in the extraordinary Werescape series. The now familiar changes in personal points of view of the central characters, expose the reader to the insecurities of living in a world AEI (After Extraterrestrial Invasion) as well as to the dreams of connecting with someone that will stand alongside through every difficulty. Elise has a secret. Lucius/man doesn't like secrets. Lucius/Wolf doesn't care about secrets, he just wants to protect, to claim. And while the people/wolves in the story work through their fears and hopes, further details about alien schemes of genetic manipulation are exposed. Sure, Loving Lucius is romantic, erotic, adventurous and fantastic with a touch of alien creepiness. But I have to step back a bit and take in the whole picture. With each successive book I read in the Werescape series, I appreciate Skhye Moncrief's ability to shape a story more than ever. Book 4, Loving Lucius pulled me into life AEI a little more the number 3, Beauty and the Brute, just as book 3 drew me in more than the first two books in the series, Cougar and Resurrecting the Beast. All together, the books tell an epic, post-apocalyptic story of world redefining itself after aliens have decimated earth and the human way of life. Individually, each novel beautifully depicts characters that struggle to understand exactly what has happened to them while they try to prepare for what will happen in the future. The aliens are still out there.

This is one of the books in the series Werescape. The story starts with Lucius and several of werewolves traveling to a outpost. he is travel for an unknown reason for his father. When he gets there he finds that the aliens that have been killing peopl on the planet are after the warlords of the area. The warlord who had sent for Lucius, has 3 daughters. he want to keep them safe and will do and give anything to keep them safe. He offers one of his 2 elder daughters to him, if he takes all 3 back to their home, which is safe and protected. Elise the eldest daughter is smart, beautiful and has a secret. She is attracted to Lucius but has been kept away from everyone and has never touched a male. SO the story is Lucius fighting his desires for Elise and Elise terrified everyone will find out she is actually half alien. Will she find her home just to be sent away again or can Lucius convince her that he can protect and take care of her. The story has lots of good sex scenes and I really like the relationship between the 2 characters. But I thought Elsie was a little bit wimpy. The environment that she is from and the world the author created, she should be if not physically strong mentally. I would have LOVED to see more of her sister too. But if you want a good read that has some intense attraction between 2 people this is a good one. Over all not my favorite but a good read!

This is the third of Ms. Moncrief's books I've reviewed and I love this series. Take aliens (bad guys), super sexy werewolves (good guys), and Normals (humans; good and bad) and throw in strong women, stronger werewolves that love them, and combine it all for a fantastic imaginative world of erotic romance. Lucius is a hot luscious werewolf who knows what he wants and he wants Elise. He also wants her secrets which she's not willing to give up without a fight. Lucius is trying to control his wolf's determination to have Elise regardless of the mysteries surrounding her. It's difficult to explain what I love most about this series but Ms. Moncrief's writing style is at the top of the list. Her ability to get inside her characters' head and put you in the front seat of the action is better than anyone I have previously read. She also keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for the love scenes. This is the first author I have reviewed more than one time. Read and enjoy. (you may want to read these in order but I don't feel it's absolutely necessary)
