Overview

Wet (The Water's Edge Series, #1) by Stacy Kestwick

Doughnuts were her weakness.
If Sadie Mullins hadn’t been running on the beach to burn off the calories from her doughnut addiction, she wouldn’t have noticed the man not moving out in the water.
Wouldn’t have dived in after him.
Wouldn’t have met West Montgomery.
The cocky bastard should have been thankful, grateful even.
Of course, he wasn’t.
That should have been the end of it.
Of course, it wasn’t.
Damn doughnuts.

This is one of the best books I've read in a while. I couldn't put it down. Highly reccommend it. Great romance and storyline.

Good story got it as part of a bundle. Not a stand alone book you must get book 2 in this series.

A good (not great) story but the book ends in the middle of the story. You have to buy book two to know how it ends. Frusrating!

The author's writing really grabs the reader into wanting more. Just purchased the 2nd in this series wanting to know what happens on the way to the end. It's a fun book of young people wanting to be independent, enjoy life and do well in their career. Some look for long romance, others hook ups. And when you least expect it...

I'll start off by saying that this ends in a cliffhanger But the next is almost out. I loved Sadie and had a slight love/hate relationship with West. Despite that West had me swooning for most of the book and I enjoyed his interaction with Sadie. Sadie is sweet and the type of girl you want to be best friends with. What made me not fully fall in love with West was, well I can't say as I do not want to spoil it. I am eagerly waiting the next book.

I went into this story honestly not knowing a whole lot about it, but I tend to like it that way. It was witty, funny, touching, angsty, and fast-paced. Some very real and true relationships developed between some of the characters that I really enjoyed. Perception and intention are two themes that I really felt rang true in this story. The tiniest of details is so easily spun into a web of something that it might not be. The only thing that I didn't love about the book was that it ended in a cliffhanger...and I wasn't aware of it. I tend to wait for a series to be completed when there are cliffhangers, so that I can gorge on all parts at once. Patience is not my strongest quality! There are definitely some details in the story that I am looking for resolution on, and character stories to be more developed, but it is definitely a series that I will finish. I just HAVE to know how Sadie and West's story ends.

I loved this book! I didn't even mind the cliff hanger at the end! I am ready for the next one. I want...no, NEED to see what happens next. I really like the characters in this book. Even though he may be a jerk I loved West. Sadie's friends Theo and Rue are the best, I love them!

I’m so glad I gave this debut author a try because I couldn’t put this story down! I LOVED it. It was well written, funny and steamy, and of course had just enough angst! Let’s just say this story has a bit of a cliffhanger, okay a HUGE cliffhanger. I had to immediately seek Stacy out to find out when Soaked releases!

This is an awesome debut novel by Stacy! The book captured my attention from the first chapter to the last. The characters have such great chemistry and set the pages on fire. Ready for the next one.

It's not often I come across an author whose work I want to continue buying...but I sure found it with Stacy Kestwick! Wet is a great story, with main characters Sadie and West intriguing me from the beginning. I love the setting and want to go hang out at the bar with them! This is a steamy, fun read, and most importantly, well-written! Wet has a cliffhanger ending so be prepared to continue the journey with future books. I'm not so anxiously waiting for the next in the series: Soaked!

4.5 Stars! Holy cow! I finished this book and immediately asked when do I get more! I want to know and I want to know now! I also would like to give West a piece of my mind and maybe a little piece of my heart that (insert word of your choice). Great debut novel. You would never think that was a first for Stacy Kestwick. I look forward to reading Soaked as soon as it comes out and future books by Stacy Kestwick. I loved Sadie and her best friends relationship. Not to mention West and his brother's. Great side characters and story line. I hope we get to see more of them after West and Sadie are finished!

Excellent debut novel by Stacy Kestwick! I loved the plot line, the setting, and most importantly for me, the story was well-written with great character development. Those last two are a must for me! I loved Sadie and West, and the supporting characters were great! For those who can't stand it, there is a cliff-hanger, but the follow up book will be out soon! I highly recommend!

Sadie was in a relationship until her world tilted and so she went to live with her best friend. She became friends with a group of locals. I really like trio of Sadie, Rue and Theo. She meets West and they spend a lot of time together. He seems to really like her, but things have a way of causing trouble for them. I got so into the story that didn't want it to end, I don't know if I can wait the next book..... I wanted Sade and West to really make it,well I guess I'll have to what. I definitely see a pre-ordered in the next few minutes

I enjoyed every minute of this beautifully written book and would highly recommend it to everyone. It is such a captivating story with a perfect balance of hot and steamy encounters, witty and funny dialogues, and sweet, romantic gestures. One of the many things I loved about the book was the character development. Sadie is smart, independent and strong, with a down to earth approach to life. But she's also vulnerable when it comes to West, and even though at some points in the story I disagreed with her actions, that made her as a character much more real and relatable. As for West, he swept me off my feet almost instantly and I found myself believing him although I knew that maybe I shouldn't. His relaxed but self-confident attitude, the witty remarks and the mystery behind his actions made him even more desirable. The writing is so enticing, drawing you into the story with such ease and the right amount of twists and turns. The descriptions are concise and informative, enough to create a mental image but never too lengthy or boring. I absolutely loved the conversations between Sadie and West! All in all, this is a must read! I can't wait for Soaked because I already miss Sadie and West!

I was roped in from the end of the Prologue. Such a well written book. The MC is so relatable. Arrrrghhhhh... I hate cliffhangers. With that being said, I don't regret reading this book. Can't wait for the next one to come out. Such a good, interesting story! You won't be disappointed.

I Love this book. The writing, the charters, and the humor are the reasons why I will always recommend this book to my friends and family. It caught my attention right from the beginning and I was not able to put it down. Even after I finished the book I thought over the ending waiting for the next one to be released.

* I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. * This was author Stacy Kestwick's debut novel and if I didn't know that ahead of time, I would have never guessed this.  It felt like a novel that has been written by any number of bestselling authors out there.  The characters were well developed, the plot was smooth, quick and fun and the ending left the reader wanting more!  This author wrote a story that drew the readers in and didn't let them go! The characters were fun, well developed and made the reader think that they were life long friends of theirs. The author took each character and made them so multi-faceted that the reader couldn't help but relate to them on some level. Sadie was in a relationship that she thought was perfect, but as soon as she found out about the cheating she left - that was empowering to read! She changes her direction in life and starts fresh and any reader will admire her for that!  West is a total bad-boy player and he thinks that Sadie is the one for him - but he doesn't seem to treat her that way....you want to love West...but there is that "douchbag" factor about him that prevents the reader for falling for him as hard as Sadie does.... The plot was fun, the details that the author had made the reader feel like they were at the beach, or in the bar. I could almost taste the Grog from The Wreck....this was the perfect setting for a summer read - or a winter read that will make you feel like your at the beach.  The action is non-stop and the plot is so unpredictable.  The author throws in some loops, curves, twists and turns that the reader never sees coming.  There is no "been there, done that" feeling as you race through the pages of the book to see what could possibly happen next! The ending....it's not really an ending...it's a jaw dropping, reader yelling cliffhanger that leaves you making up the next part of the story in your head! The reader needs to know and they need to know now what is going to happen to Sadie. She is an instant friend and the reader needs to know that she is going to be ok....this book will leave you with a book hangover that will take several books to get over.  I am looking forward to book 2 and need it soon!! Make sure you add this book to your TBR list and move it to the top! It is that great of a read! Don't miss out on this one! ***Review has been done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official. ***

The book opens with a doozy of a prologue and only gets better from there! West and Sadie and witty, sassy, and steamy and the secondary characters add depth and realness to a story I couldn't put down. Dive into this great book - you won't be sorry!

What can I say about Wet by Stacy Kestwick? This debut novel blew me out of the water! She doesn't even just start of the book by hooking you with the prologue, which she most certainly does... but the sneaky little author snatched my attention when I first saw the blurb to her book! That is one catchy, sweet a$$ blurb! Damn doughnuts!  The characters in Wet were well developed and well written - from the main characters to the supporting cast. As I was swept away into the story I felt as if I knew them personally, as if I cold be friends with them (OK, I admit it I just really WANTED to be friends with them and be able to hang out at The Wreck!) They are far from perfect, but who wants to read about perfect people? Not this chick! BORING! These are flawed characters who live life and have the bumps and bruises to prove it. Do they have secrets? YES! Do they have issues with communication? YES! Do you sometimes want to scream through your e-reader at them? HELL YES! But isn't that the sign of an excellent book? Wet had everything I look for -- fabulous writing, engaging characters, some incredible lines, laughs, steam, romance, friendship -- all tied up in a neat little package. And seriously this was a debut? Do I recommend this book? Only to everyone I know! So yes - take the plunge, dive right in and get WET! I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
