There are so many opinions of what a healthy diet should be, what we should and should not eat. Some of the foods that were labeled as bad for you (beef, eggs, butter...)according to "scientific research" are now recommended by others according to their "scientific reasearch". All of this information only confuses the issue of eating and at the end, produce a guilty feeling to those who love to eat. As a Christian, I turned to this book because I want to know the biblical perspective of this issue. After much thought and careful reading, I can say at last, I am free! From this book, it's confirmed in my heart through God's word that temperance in eating is God's work and I can eat what God has for me without feeling guilty. I love to eat. But over the years, I developed a habit in eating too much. As the result, I started to gain more weight after hitting the thirties. With God's help, I can now stop eating when I am comfortable and satisfied. I have no guilty conscience eating a little desert before my main course because I am no longer bound to anyone's rules. Eating is so much more fun now for me. I can eat with other people and have a good time and not have to worry about how many calories, grams of proteins and carbs I am ingesting. I have lost weight and am able to maintain a manageable weight. Being lighter in weight, I also feel more energetic. I am running regularly and my mind and body feel good. I would recommend this book to anyone who are struggling as I did in this issue. The author writes in a very gentle and loving tone. You feel like she's talking to you as a friend whose encouraging you to overcome this problem. As a Christian, I appreciate the abundance of bible verses used throughout the pages to confirm this is indeed the biblical perspective. It's a good book. I thank the author for helping me overcome my problem.
