A cute love story when an extremely shy young man sees the woman of his dreams and incorporates her into a character in the comic books he writes. Wyatt Haney meets his neighbor Kayla Malone and he is unable to say much but she recognizes his shyness and helps him. She is a widow with a small son who grows to like the man who reads stories to him. Kayla was hurt in her marriage and is afraid of getting hurt in a new relationship but the more she is around Wyatt, she knows he is a good man and would never hurt her. I loved the romance in this story as Wyatt comes out of his shell and ditches the hoodie he usually wears to cover his burn scars. Kayla tells him she loves him as he is and he need not hide anymore. They are good for each other and he gives Kayla's son Brady the male attention he needs.

This was really good! I listened to the first book in the series a few months ago and enjoyed it so I decided to give this second book a try. I ended up liking this book even more than the first one. I ended up listening to the entire book in just two days and hated to set it aside. I really had a fantastic time with this contemporary romance. I loved the characters in this book. Wyatt was amazing. He was such a good guy who has been through a lot. He is a quiet man who writes comic books and works for his family's construction company. He has also had his eye on his neighbor ever since she moved to his building. Kayla is a widowed single mom. She spends her days going to school to become a dental hygienist and the rest of her time is focused on her son, Brady. I knew right away that Wyatt and Kayla were going to be really good together. They had great chemistry and seemed to understand each other in a way that others didn't. Wyatt was fantastic with Kayla's son, Brady, and I thought that those interactions really helped to develop their relationship. I loved the fact that Brady played such an important role in the story and I loved seeing all three of them together. Teri Clark Linden did a great job with the narration of this story. She handled a pretty diverse group of characters without any difficulty. I thought that her delivery added a lot of emotion to the story which was a big plus. I found it easy to listen to this book for hours at a time. I have listened to Teri Clark Linden a few times now and she is quickly making her way onto my list of favorite narrators. I would highly recommend this book to contemporary romance fans. Wyatt was a fantastic Hero and I loved watching the relationship between him and Kayla develop. These were two people that deserved their happily ever after and it was just a joy to see everything come together. I am looking forward to reading more from this series in the future.

I won a copy of this book. I was required to give a favorable review. This is a really good book. It has romance, family, friendship, new relationships and new beginnings. Wyatt has always been a little shy about meeting and talking to people. It work out that he works for his family construction & handyman business. He also does comics on this side. He has never been published but it is his release for his shyness. He has a new neighbor & a she has a little boy. His new series involves her but he has never gotten the nerve to talk to her. Under one Saturday he sees her leave with her son to do laundry and here the smoke alarm go off in her apartment which is above his. He gets everyone out and finally gets to actually meet and talk to her and her son. He has feelings from afar they are new for her as a widow you married young and had her son. The writing is wonderful.

I love characters who are a little different and feel very real. Wyatt’s shyness definitely attracted me to this book but Longley’s writing had me falling in love with him. (I get the idea though if I’d read the first book, I’d probably already been in love ;) ) He’s always been an introvert but his scars has only kept him from breaking out of it over the years. When he’s with someone he’s comfortable with he’s a totally different person. And time spent with Kayla has her seeing the playful, funny, caring man he is under his hoodies. And the way he is with her son has everyone’s heart turning over. Kayla’s hesitation on getting involved with anyone, even the obviously awesome Wyatt, is very understandable. Married early because of a pregnancy, she doesn’t have a lot of experience with happy relationships and finishing school while being a single mom takes up a lot of her energy. But of course Wyatt is going to be hard to resist and when he finally finds something he wants this bad, he’s not going to give up easily. Even if it means coming out of his shell :) (Can stand on its own) *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

Whatever you need is a sweet and enjoyable light story. Between shy Wyatt and his neighbor Kayla. After the fire Wyatt gets the chance to finally make a contact with his hot neighbor Kayla. There is some misunderstanding on the Kayla side but although they share a passionate kiss Kayla is not ready to have a relationship. So Wyatt with the help of his family comes with the plan to win her over. Lovely sweet story with interesting characters. Both Kayla and Wyatt are great developed and I think that nobody would run from such great guy like Wyatt is. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. I read the first book, and I enjoyed it, even though I did find it a little slow, however I still wanted to know what happens with Wyatt, so I decided to read this one. Again, I find this one slow, I like my romance books, to get to the point a little quicker, others may not agree with me, but to each his own. Anyway, I still like Wyatt, he was a little awkward but enjoyable. Kayla was ok, and you had to love the little boy, However, I dont think I will continue the series.

[I voluntarily reviewed this book after the author gifted me with it] "How could he expect more with her if he couldn't be a friend first?" Wyatt Hanley is a shy person. He's an electrician by trade, a professional on the job. However, he's never found the right "connection", especially with women. He hides his scars and his fears behind the hooded sweatshirts that keep him insulated from other people. Kayla Malone, young, widowed mother of a young son,Brady, lives on the floor above his. He's attracted to her, but she's badly hurt from her husband's psychological abuse and angry about how he neglected both her and their son. This story is about how they both overcome their fearful pasts and begin to mature in their lives. Motivated by attraction, each must move beyond those walls and trust their feelings. I think, without a doubt, that this is one of the best contemporary romances I have read in years. Not driven by physicality, the intimacy is just part of the story, not built around it. The emotions ring true, the storyline is believable. You want to care for these two lost people as they find their way towards each other. Strongly recommended.5 stars

Barbara Longley is a seasoned pro who knows how to write romance. I have read a number of her books and “Whatever You Need” does not disappoint. Her book exceeded all my expectations. Her storyline was beautifully written and her characters well developed, believable and engaging. I loved the slow buildup in Wyatt and Kayla’s budding romance. Their journey toward a forever love was electric. Both these characters struggled with relationship issues. There struggles and how they would overcome them held my interest and kept me invested in the story. I also liked the surprise twists toward the end which I never saw coming! Barbara gives her readers another winner and I highly recommend this book. I received an advance readers copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. It was my pleasure to give my honest opinion about this book.

Loved this!! Wyatt Haney is not your typical romance hero but he is just so lovable you can't help but fall for him. He's wickedly shy, compassionate, and kind. The characters in this entire series are down to earth and feel so very real. I really liked Kayla too. Life has been rough for her but she never gives up. She's a great mom to Brady and has given up everything for him. Now Wyatt just needs to get up the nerve to convince Kayla to take a chance on love with him. Definitely a recommended read.
