This wonderful book goes a long way to validate my choice, when society in general doesn't seem to support much, the important work of staying home to raise children. The authors share quite a bit of heartfelt support/insight, that they've doggedly collected from hundreds of women. I read this book at a time in my life when I really needed to hear such lavish, yet common-sense reasoning, that being a full-time parent is the toughest, yet MOST rewarding job I could have. It cuts through the persistent media hype regarding 90's women 'having it all' and helped me rethink 'all.' Balancing research statistics with plenty of true-life testimonials, this book squeezes your heart, and I feel that is a good thing. It has alerted me to my need for support, and spurred me to seek out other like-minded books, friends, & a support group that regard full-time childrearing as a vocation.
